DWTS’ Danny O’Carroll has been left in floods of tears after receiving an emotional surprise ahead of the final show.
The Mrs Brown’s Boys star stormed the dance floor tonight for a chance to lift the iconic Glitterball trophy.
Danny and his pro dancer Salome Chachua danced a high energy Salsa to Rock This Party by Bob Sinclair for their final performance on the show.
Before the routine, Danny explained that he had “put his back out” while practicing a lift during rehearsals.
The Dubliner felt down on his luck but was determined to fight for the trophy.
To raise his spirits, Salome said she had a “little surprise” for Danny.
The dancer then took out her phone to show a clip of Danny’s son, Jamie, giving him a heart-melting video message.
The proud son said: “I love you so much and I am so proud to call you my dad.”
However, in the background, Jamie actually appears in the dance studio, leaving Danny totally speechless.
The dad-of-two immediately burst into floods of tears and embraced Jamie in an emotional moment.
Danny got all choked up as he cried: “I missed you so much. You’ve given me the lift I needed.”
Jamie then joked: “Sure, there’s nothing wrong with your back”, causing his dad to erupt into a fit of laughter.
The 41-year-old added: “What this competition has shown me is how important family is, and all the love they have given me throughout this I will never forget.”
And fans flocked to social media to gush over the lovely TV moment.
‘NEEDED THAT HUG’
Erica wrote: “Danny’s son surprising him and his reaction is priceless. Danny clearly loves his family.”
Brittany added: “I felt so bad for Danny, he needed that hug.”
Liam said: “Danny and his son have me emotional.”
And Sarah remarked: “This series has me bawling every two minutes.”
