Former actress and now Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, is one of the most influential people worldwide. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry stepped down as working royals in 2020 and decided to move to Southern California. Over the years, Markle has opened up about her challenges to fit into the British royal family, and the reaction to that has always been mixed. She has been an inspiration for a lot of young girls and has also been a target of online hate.

Markle and Prince Harry appeared on a Netflix show, Harry & Meghan, which detailed their relationship from early courtship to their decision to step down as working royals. The show received mixed reviews, but it holds the record for the biggest debut for the streaming platform’s documentary release. The actress now appears on her lifestyle series With Love, Meghan, and viewers have pointed out her simple yet elegant appearances.
Meghan Markle’s ‘cool yet elegant’ fashion & hairstyle on Netflix’s With Love, Meghan
Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle returns to the screens with her new Netflix show, With Love, Meghan, which premiered on March 4, 2025. The lifestyle series not only gives plenty of recipe ideas for the next soirée but also serves fashion in the best way. The former actress dresses casually and coolly yet maintains the chicness of her personality and Duchess title.
Various publications mentioned that the former actress reclaims herself in every way and chooses to ditch the pantyhose for comfortable shorts. But what fans have noticed is the way she styles up her hair, especially after opening up about her challenges with her textured hair.

Back in 2022, during an episode of Archetypes, Meghan Markle spoke to Mariah Carey and recalled her initial struggle with hair. She shared at the time (via Hello!),
My hair is so curly, and it’s so thick. I just remember as a child, because my mom’s Black, and so my grandma Jeanette would do my hair. She’d go, ‘Just hold onto the sink,’ and I would grip my little hands on both sides. You have no luxury of being tenderhearted because she would take the brush and just whoosh, whoosh, and tie it.
Markle shared her experience after Carey shared that no one knew how to do her hair when she was a little girl. She recalled that because her mom was white and her dad was Black, her mother didn’t know how to deal with textured hair. The two influential personalities echoed the same sentiment of hairstylists at the time not understanding how to style their hair.
The Duchess of Sussex stepped out at the LA Children’s Hospital Gala last year in her natural, relaxed, tousled look, which surprised the viewers, as it was very different from her usual sleek and polished hairstyles. In her recently released Netflix show, With Love, Meghan, critics have pointed out that her hairstyles appear to be more chic and sleek but relaxed.
They note that it’s giving a lot of chill-at-home vibes but chic, and everyone loves that. Someone who struggled with textured hair and had people around who didn’t know how to style her hair to her hair most comfortably while maintaining that royal essence, Markle has come a long way.
With her chic fashion choices to embracing her beautiful locks, Meghan Markle looked absolutely gorgeous in the episodes. They look more manageable and probably have fewer products which had been a long complaint of the actress as she mentioned while speaking to Carey.
Meghan Markle envisioned With Love, Meghan as a ‘communal experience’
The highly anticipated lifestyle series, With Love, Meghan, debuted on Netflix, and it has been reported that a second season is already set to premiere.

In a cover story for People, the former actress shared that the crew was involved in the making behind and in front of the camera. She said,
It feels as though we’re just spending time together, which is what it ended up being. I’d make a recipe and say, ‘Everyone try this,’ and there are certain dishes where you just watch everyone flock in. I’d say, ‘We’ve run out of spoons!’
Markle added that the entire experience ended up being and feeling so communal, which is what she was hoping it would be. Director Michael Steed shared his experience of working alongside the Markle and noted,
It was unexpected, but I embraced it… It was a lot of fun. I was always going to be the point of conversation so she had someone to talk to at all times and make it more conversational and comfortable.
The director, talking about Markle’s culinary skills, mentioned that it’s pretty much spot on. He added that she is not a chef and the show does not position her as one, but she loves cooking, and that’s all they wanted to showcase. He further added that he embraces imperfection, and it was fun watching Markle trying to get used to the kitchen, especially when it’s not her place, which is why they went ahead with letting her walk and look around for things.
Steed lastly added they wanted to embrace and celebrate all of the mistakes and messes along with the yummy and good stuff.
With Love, Meghan is streaming on Netflix.
