Over the past few weeks, the Terminid faction in Helldivers 2 has been making some significant progress. Some mutations have been detected within the faction and as a result, some new Terminid units have appeared on the battlefield. Since most divers are currently battling these Gloom-enhanced units, the community has engaged in debates to decide which is the best weapon against these new enemies.
A shotgun is the best weapon against the bugs, but it’s hard to decide which type of shotgun. Most players believe that the ARC-12 Blitzer is the best weapon against the bugs, but there are a few other weapons in the game that can change your mind.

Recently, new types of Terminid enemies, known as the Predator Strain, appeared on the battlefield. These gloom-enhanced units are faster, stronger, and smarter than regular Terminid units, making it much more difficult for Helldivers to slow down the faction.
A Helldivers 2 player on the r/helldivers2 subreddit recently pointed out that ARC-12 Blitzer is the best weapon for this new gloom-enhanced strain. This sparked a lot of debate as players pointed out that there are other weapons in the game that are better than the Blitzer.

Most players prefer to take shotguns on Terminid missions as most units rely on close combat, so high damage combined with its spray area can slow down even hordes of Terminids. As for Stratagems, it seems like the Machine Gun is quite popular among the community for Terminid missions.

Given Helldivers 2‘s popularity right now, it is hard to believe that the game lost 90% of its player base on Steam at one point. A few months after the game’s release, players started uninstalling the game because of nerfs and Sony’s PSN account linking policy. Due to the massive dip in active player count, Sony revoked the policy and Arrowhead came up with a fresh strategy to save the game.
Particularly after the Omens of Tyranny update, Helldivers 2‘s popularity has increased significantly. However, the game still needs some fresh content to keep players hooked. Despite being a relatively new faction, players have complained that the Illuminate lacks variety.
It has been confirmed that the studio is working on new and better Illuminate units to spice things up. A lot of fresh content is lined up, so players should expect to see some new weapons, stratagems, maps, and enemies soon.
