Only a few wrestlers had a more dynamic rise in the WWE than the NXT star Stephanie Vaquer. Though everything is going her way in the WWE the same cannot be said for her personal life.
Her previous relationship ended on a troubling note which complicated her personal life and that may be the reason behind her decision to stay single. Many WWE fans assume Vaquer is still single because of the treatment she got from her ex-boyfriend El Cuatrero.
Why is a successful wrestler like Stephanie Vaquer still single?
She previously dated Rogelio Reyes a well-known Mexican wrestler whose ring name was El Cuatrero. Sadly things didn’t turn out well and their relationship ended with Reyes getting arrested and charged with several major offenses, including attempted femicide and domestic abuse.
Vaquer filed a police complaint against Reyes accusing him of harassment. He was finally arrested by the police on March 10 2023 in Mexico City.
After the incident, Vaquer focused solely on building her wrestling career and she is believed to be single.
Since then Vaquer has not disclosed any information regarding her relationship or marital status nor has any paparazzi. Thus it can be assumed that she is still without a partner.
Why did Stephanie Vaquer choose to sign with WWE rather than AEW?
Stephanie Vaquer was born on March 29, 1993, and has been associated with professional wrestling since 2009. She has competed in many international promotions including stints in AEW and NJPW, before making her way into WWE’s NXT.
In an interview with “Busted Open Radio,” Vaquer revealed why she chose to sign with the WWE rather than the AEW.
“WWE is my dream and say, okay, this is for me … I take NXT because I really like do things or new things, but good. I don’t like the fast and no good. So I say, ‘okay, I need to learn English. I need to learn TV show, I need to learn American style, WWE style.’ So I say first, I say ‘main roster,’ but change and say, ‘I want to go to ‘NXT’ to learn.”‘ (credit- Busted Open After Dark/Wrestling Inc.)
Vaquer revealed that she always wanted to compete in the WWE as it has always been one of her biggest dreams. She explained that being born in Chile, she had very little exposure to professional wrestling and she is grateful to be able to just perform at the WWE.
She further opened up on her initial wrestling days when she had no money to buy food and practiced on an empty stomach. Vaquer claimed that amidst that struggle the only thing that gave her comfort and happiness was wrestling and she could happily sacrifice everything to continue wrestling.
