Where to Find Midas’ Mythic Drum Gun in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2

The drum gun has been an iconic part of Fortnite’s arsenal ever since it was first introduced in Chapter 1 Season 4. The weapon has also seen many variations since then, be it an exotic or a mythic drum gun supposed to be dropped after the player eliminates an NPC on the battle royale island.

One of the most notable variations out of these has been Midas’ Mythic Drum Gun, which was first introduced back in Chapter 2 Season 2 for the first time. It was a hot commodity back in the day, and Epic Games has finally added the gun to the loot pool once again in the current season, allowing players to try out the mythic drum gun for themselves if they missed it the first time.

How to Unlock Midas’ Mythic Drum Gun in Fortnite

Reintroduced as Midas’ Gilded Eye Drum Gun, players can manage to get their hands on this unique weapon at the Rogue Repairs Black Market, situated west of Rolling Blossom Farm. Unlike previous seasons where mythic weapons were often dropped by defeating specific NPC bosses, this season introduces a different approach.

The above-mentioned location is the only point where the drum gun can be obtained, and players will need to have the Common Outlaw Keycard in order to enter the Black Market’s back rooms.

Alongside a few other weapons, you can find Midas’ Gilded Eye Drum Gun enclosed in a glass case, which can be bought for 1 Dill Bit, a currency that can be acquired by a Vault Heist or opening an Outlaw Chest.

Midas’ Gilded Eye Drum Gun is a fully automatic submachine gun, and its earlier variations were easily one of the most sought-after SMGs in any season it was introduced in. It is also important to note that while the fire rate of this gun is high (8.5), it’s less than what other SMGs in Fortnite.

Fortunately, the drum gun makes up for it by having a thermal scope and a magazine capacity of 40 bullets, with each one of them doing 26 damage. Unfortunately, despite its legendary status, Midas’ Gilded Eye Drum Gun’s performance in the current meta of Chapter 6 Season 2 may not align with its former dominance.

While the weapon is relatively easy to acquire and its large magazine can be forgiving for players who miss some shots, it doesn’t quite match up to the power it displayed when it was introduced in earlier seasons. It could be that the current loot pool offers much better alternatives, or simply that earlier iterations were simply more powerful due to less recoil and a higher fire rate.
