Una Healy reveals her secrets for perfect skin at 43 –  including morning routine she skips and free beauty hack

UNA Healy has revealed her big beauty secret for clear skin – and it takes just SECONDS to complete.

The former Saturdays star reckons the free morning hack “definitely does something” for her and told how “consistency is key”.

The 43-year-old, from Tipperary, said: “I know people have these ice baths and things like that but I don’t cleanse my skin first thing in the morning.

“In the morning, because my skin has already had an overnight serum or whatever, I just run a cold tap and have it ice cold.

“I splash it on my face for like a minute, just holding it and splashing cold water.

“It just kind of shocks the face, I definitely think it does something anyway.”

Una, who praised Lidl’s new beauty range as “high-standard and affordable”, attended the launch wearing the retailer’s €4 fake tan.

Asked if she had any beauty tips to share, she said: “Consistency is key in anything, and having a routine is important.

“You just have to make sure that you look after your skin.

“And it’s not only just like what you apply on your skin, it’s what you ingest as well.

“Lots of water, sleep and exercise too to stay in top shape.”

Una has also issued a “come and get me” declaration to I’m A Celebrity bosses – despite suffering from “aftershocks” and “nightmares” following a stint on Bear Grylls’ extreme jungle show.

She was one of 12 celebrities dropped into the Costa Rican jungle to fend for themselves amid extreme conditions for Netflix show Celebrity Bear Hunt.

And the mum-of-two later admitted that she experienced PTSD after filming ended, and even suffered from “nightmares.”

But the star, who was a runner-up in the survival show, has “got a taste for a challenge” now.

Asked if she would be interested in taking part in I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here, she told The Irish Sun: “It was my first time doing reality TV.

“I’d never done a reality TV competition before.

“I’ve got the taste for a challenge now, so I would be totally up for anything. Yeah, maybe.”

‘DETERMINED’

Una also told how she was “determined” to stay in Celebrity Bear Hunt for as long as possible.

Speaking at the Lidl’s Doop beauty salon launch, she said: “Honestly, I would love to do it again.

“I was so scared going into it because I didn’t know what to expect because it’s never been done before.

“But I really surprised myself how determined I was in there.

“I was determined not to go out first, and I stuck to that right from the beginning.”

And Una said her children, Aoife Belle, 12, and Tadhg, 10, were encouraging her to stay in the show.

She said: “I was able to phone home a few times.

“They were encouraging me to stay in there, like, ‘Don’t come home this weekend’.

“I was like, ‘Oh, I’m in the Bear Pit again. I’ll probably be home this weekend’.

“I just kept the little voices in my head. It was lovely, but I missed them so much.

“It’s a long time to be away. I was gone for a month.”

‘BINGE-WATCHED’

Una said she watched the Netflix hit with her kids and they were “glued” to it.

She said: “They binge-watched it and they were really proud, so I was so happy.”

The singer-songwriter also revealed she would love to write a tune for Ireland’s Eurovision entry in the future – but has no plans to go on stage herself.

She said: “I was backing singer in 2006 for Brian Kennedy, so I’ve had the experience.

“I’ll be watching this year. I don’t think I’d perform, but I wouldn’t mind writing something or co-writing something.”

NEW TUNE

And Una told how she hopes to release a new tune in the next few months.

She said: “I’m bringing out new music so I’m writing at the minute. I hope to release a single before the summer.

“And I’ve got loads of cool shows coming up, I’m doing some of the Prides – Birmingham Pride and the Mighty Hoopla.

“I’ve also some shows with Luke Thomas and The Swing Cats and some stuff with Declan Nerney, my uncle.”

Lidl’s new beauty range, which includes dupes of top brands such as K18, Drunk Elephant and Sol de Janeiro hit stores today – with prices from €1.99.
