There was no shortage of smash-hit games in 2024. However, one of the biggest surprises of the year was undoubtedly Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 2. No one in their wildest dreams could’ve predicted the success this game would go on to achieve.
After the success of the game’s release, developer Saber Interactive stated that it had plans for a successor. Now, it seems like things have materialized, as it’s been confirmed that Space Marine 3 is being put together by the studio.
Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 3 is coming soon
Focus Entertainment has put out a press release on its official website, which confirms that Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 3 is in active development by Saber Interactive. It’s also been confirmed that the game will see the return of Titus.
While Focus Entertainment hasn’t revealed much, it has stated that the next entry would elevate the immersive experience and stay true to the core aspects of the Warhammer 40k franchise: intense and brutal gameplay.

It’s great to see that developers are sticking to the same philosophy that allowed the Space Marine 2 to set new highs for the Warhammer 40k franchise. Focus Entertainment has also confirmed that more details about the upcoming title will be presented at a later date.
Saber’s CEO, Matthew Karch, has acknowledged the importance of Space Marine 2 by calling it a “transformative” title for the studio. It’s crucial to keep in mind that these announcements do not affect the Space Marine sequel, as Saber already has years of content planned.
What can we expect to see in Space Marine 3?
As we’ve said before, Focus Entertainment hasn’t revealed much about what gamers can expect to see in this upcoming title. Obviously, there will be a completely new storyline, factions, and enemies to face off against.
There’s a chance we could see Necros finally make their appearance in Space Marine 3. The sentient robotic creatures were hinted at a lot during the sequel but couldn’t be found in any missions.
Focus did say that it’s planning to bring “large-scale battles” in the next game, which means that there could be more intense conflicts seen in the Warhammer 40k world.
When could we see this project hitting the shelves? Well, it’s going to be a long wait. Keep in mind that Space Marine 3 has just entered into development phases, and that process can take a long time as there are a number of things that need to be planned.
We are excited to see what Focus Entertainment and Saber Interactive are planning for this incredible franchise with the next game. As long as it receives the same treatment that put the sequel on the radar for the gaming community, Space Marine 3 will be a smash hit.
