The White Lotus Season 3: Sam Rockwell’s Crazy Monologue Still Doesn’t Beat Show’s Filthiest Moment To Date

The White Lotus has always been surprising, shocking viewers with its sudden twists and turns. Having made quite a name for itself with its biting satire and outrageous moments, the recently released season three of the show is no different. In a surprise cameo, Sam Rockwell showed up on the latest episode of the show, delivering a totally wild and unhinged monologue that has become one of the most talked about moments of the show within hours of its premiere.

However, the brilliantly delivered monologue still doesn’t seem to top The White Lotus‘ filthiest moment to date: when Armond, in an effort to take revenge on Shane, ended up sh*tting in his suitcase, all the way back in season one.

Sam Rockwell’s electrifying monologue vs. The White Lotus’ filthiest scene

Sam Rockwell has always been electrifying, but in his latest appearance on The White Lotus, the actor knocked the ball out of the park. Appearing as Walter Goggins’s old friend, Frank, the character apparently has undergone a huge change since they last met. From being a party animal addicted to s*x, Frank is now a Buddhist and 10 months sober.

While they met because of an errand, the subsequent monologue that Frank delivers has us all, including Rick, awestruck, astonished, and dazed. Frank details the reason why he came to Thailand and vividly explains his s*xcapades as Rick looked on, half-horrified, half-baffled. As he delves deep into his s*xuality and his desires, Rick doesn’t seem to get even half of it, sitting with his mouth hanging open.

Well, as shocking as the monologue goes and as impeccable as Rockwell acted, the said scene still doesn’t top the infamous poop scsne. Back in the season 1 finale, Murray Bartlett’s Armond (the hotel manager) goes on a pure unhinged moment of rebellion and revenge against the entitled guest, Jake Lacy’s Shane. Sneaking into his suite, he squats over his open suitcase, defecates, and tries to make an escape.

Although his plans to escape go horribly wrong after he gets stabbed by Shane, the moment prior remains one of the most disgusting scenes in The White Lotus. Even Rockwell’s filthy and wild monologue, cannot top sheer audacity and absurdity of the infamous poop incident.

Sam Rockwell never ceases to amaze viewers, and during his recent appearance on The White Lotus, he brought his famous signature energy to the anthology series. While his bizarre character appearance might be because of his long-time girlfriend, Leslie Bibb, who is one of season 3’s stars, the Oscar-winning actor left no stones unturned to nail his cameo.

Even the fans feel the same that no one could have done the monologue better than the Marvel star. As it goes viral, here is how the fans of The White Lotus are responding:

Well, even though Sam Rockwell’s monologue does not top the poop incident, it is brilliant in every sense. After the episode premiere, fans have been campaigning for Rockwell to win an Outstanding Guest Actor Emmy for the said scene. While Rockwell deserves every bit of praise, some of it also goes to Mike White for his exceptional writing and directing skills.

The White Lotus is available to be streamed on HBO, with season 3 releasing weekly on Sundays at 9 PM ET.
