The MCU is gearing up for some major cosmic expansions, and the latest rumored addition has X-Men fans buzzing. A powerful alien race, closely tied to an Omega-level mutant we’d love to see Henry Cavill play, is reportedly set to make its debut. With deep Marvel lore and game-changing potential, this could open the door for one of the most epic storylines yet.

So, who’s coming to shake up the MCU? And could Cavill finally land his next superhero role?
Henry Cavill’s potential MCU role gets a major boost

The Shi’ar Empire is officially on its way to the MCU, and that means one thing — Vulcan could finally make his live-action debut. During a recent Discord Q&A, insider Alex Perez confirmed that “the Shi’ar is one” of the cosmic races set to appear in Marvel’s future projects. He alluded,
We will see future cosmic entities and races be a part of the MCU. The Shi’Ar is one. The Annihilation Wave is another.
With the MCU expanding into space, the stage is set for one of the most powerful Omega-level mutants to shake things up. And if there’s one actor who could bring Vulcan’s ruthless intensity to life, it’s Henry Cavill.
Vulcan (Gabriel Summers) is the long-lost brother of Cyclops and Havok, an energy-wielding powerhouse raised as a slave by the Shi’ar. He didn’t just escape; he conquered, overthrowing the empire and ruling with an iron fist. His story is packed with revenge, betrayal, and intergalactic warfare, making him a top-tier X-Men villain. And with X-Men ’97 keeping the Summers family in the spotlight, Vulcan’s arrival seems inevitable.
Cavill is tailor-made for the role. He’s got the commanding presence, the action chops, and the ability to balance arrogance with raw emotion. After his Superman exit, Vulcan offers a chance for him to embrace a darker, more complex character — one who’s as much a tragic anti-hero as he is a cosmic tyrant.
With Deadpool & Wolverine cracking open the multiverse, the Shi’ar stepping into the MCU, and Marvel looking for fresh threats, Vulcan’s time is now. And if Cavill takes the mantle, the X-Men won’t know what hit them.
Henry Cavill had to fulfill a ridiculous condition for one of his first roles

Henry Cavill wasn’t always the Hollywood heartthrob fans know today. Back when he was auditioning for The Count of Monte Cristo, the producers had one unexpected demand — he had to lose weight.
Cavill, who had struggled with body image growing up, was blindsided when the filmmakers didn’t tell him directly. Instead, they pulled his mother aside and asked her to deliver the news. Cavill recalled, frustrated by the ordeal (per GQ),
I was overweight when I went to school. In fact, I was overweight when I left, just taller. Fatty Cavill was the nickname. I mean, no one wants to be Fatty Cavill. […] It stuck with me for a while, actually. I was always conscious of my weight afterwards. I’ve had girlfriends in the past who have said, ‘No, really, your weight’s fine, you look great’, but I just didn’t believe them.
They took her aside to tell her that I really needed to lose weight in order to get the part. And she had to tell me. I was like, ‘If I’m overweight, why can’t they tell me themselves!’ I was really pissed off. But I managed to lose a stone and a half in a very short time.
Still, he shed 21 pounds in record time to land the part. That early experience fueled his motivation, but these days, Cavill takes on physical transformations on his own terms. From Man of Steel to Mission: Impossible – Fallout, the only body change he makes now is packing on pure muscle.
