Swellendam Municipality invites South African unemployed graduates to apply for ICT Internship Programme 2025

Internship Location: Swellendam Municipality, Western Cape, South Africa
Internship Duration: 12 months (fixed-term contract)
Stipend: R100 000 per annum (all-inclusive)
Swellendam Municipality is offering a 12-month ICT Internship Programme aimed at providing qualified graduates with hands-on experience in ICT support and municipal systems. This is a great opportunity for career growth and skills development in the public sector.
Note: Applicants who previously applied under HR 4/2025 will be considered and do not need to re-apply.
Minimum Requirements
- A relevant ICT qualification at NQF Level 6
- 1–2 years’ relevant experience in IT support
- Proficient in at least 2 of the 3 Western Cape official languages
- Valid Code B driver’s licence
Technical Skills & Competencies
- Advanced computer literacy (MS Office)
- Knowledge of ICT policies and procedures
- Understanding of ITIL, Active Directory, Windows Server (2019–2022), Office 365, networking, and Azure
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and reporting abilities
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
Key Duties
- Install, configure, and maintain hardware/software per IT policies
- Provide end-user technical support and troubleshoot application/system issues
- Set up and test hardware; monitor performance in a live environment
- Assist with LAN/WAN connectivity, IP conflict resolution, and secure access
- Support ICT tools, municipal website, network point installations, and asset tracking
- Conduct end-user training and assist in IT competency development
