“Stay in that fast and furious sh*t where you belong”: Gal Gadot Gets Egged and Ripped Online for Her New Song in ‘Snow White’ Remake

The internet is a ruthless place, and Gal Gadot is learning that the hard way. Our beloved Wonder Woman, who has thrived in action movies, has tried something different this time around in Snow White

She is playing the Evil Queen in the Disney classic’s live-action remake and has been facing a lot of scrutiny even before the film’s release. From brutal tweets to outright mockery, netizens have unleashed it all, but does she deserve this backlash?

The moment a clip of Gal Gadot singing All Is Fair hit the internet, floodgates of criticism opened. Social media users tore apart her singing abilities and even questioned why she was still receiving opportunities in Hollywood. Many people chimed in with harsh takes, while some had suggestions, such as casting a British actress.

Perhaps all of this backlash could have been avoided if they had just hired a professional playback singer. It’s a common practice in musical films, and there’s no reason not to implement it here, especially when Gadot has no ties to singing. After all, the Evil Queen is an iconic character, and she deserves showstopping musical numbers, but the actress’ voice couldn’t do justice to it.

While her enthusiasm is admirable, and she’s trying something out of her comfort zone, there’s a lot at stake here. Perhaps casting an actress who can also sing well could have saved the musical number. On the other hand, a singer who could act would’ve also worked, maybe someone like Lady Gaga!

While people are mocking her singing abilities in Snow White, it’s understandable that she’s not the best at it because Gadot is professionally an actress. So, it’s worth revisiting the conversation around her acting abilities. She is known for her roles in Wonder Woman and the Fast & Furious franchise and has built her career with an undeniable screen presence.

But her acting has always been a topic of debate, with many criticizing her limited emotional range. Some argue that her performances can feel wooden or unconvincing in scenes that require a lot of expression. Her accent, which is a part of her charm, can sometimes become the barrier that stops her from a nuanced dialogue delivery, yet this time around, some fans have high hopes after watching snippets from Snow White.

But she does excel in action sequences, looks phenomenal while performing all kinds of stunts, and can undeniably carry blockbuster movies on her own. Now, it’s yet to be seen if her portrayal of the Evil Queen will silence the haters or give them something new to talk about.

Snow White will be released in theatres on March 21, 2025.
