It is always a breath of fresh air to see a star take their life outside the industry seriously. Taking care of your outie is as important after all. Sarah Bock knew that very well, having already decided about which college she’d be going to.
Bock, who made it big with her role as Miss Huang in Severance Season 2, was faced with a tough decision last year – it is never easy to choose your college after all. And a Severance star helped her tide over the conundrum.

Sarah Bock has a lot on her plate. With Severance Season 3 already on the horizon, things are bound to get a little hectic for the Bruisers star, who’ll hopefully be back. And she’ll have to manage the schedule while pursuing her double majors at Northwestern University.
Bock, studying both Psychology and Theatre at Northwestern, has set the stage alight with her performance in Severance season 2, hands down being one of the stand-out performers. And she couldn’t be more excited about doing more of the same in the next season. But it wouldn’t be amiss to say that she had her fair share of difficulties.
As an intern bossing the entire severed floor, one would expect that Miss Huang had to put up with many things, notably accepting that she would never find it easy to forge a meaningful relationship with the refiners, especially Helly R.
For all the enmity between them on the severed floor, the duo are getting along quite nicely in real life, with Britt Lower helping Bock make a major life decision.
Sarah Bock couldn’t be more thankful to Britt Lower
In a clip uploaded on Northwestern’s TikTok handle, Sarah Bock shared how she finally took the call to attend Northwestern. She said,
When I was looking at colleges, Britt Lower, who plays Helly on the show. She’s an alum of here, and she kind of suggested it. She slid it in there and thought that I might be a good fit for Northwestern. So I applied and when I visited during Admitted Students Weekend last April, I was like, I love it here. This is perfect.
Bock really must owe Britt Lower one. What makes the scene interesting is the dynamic between the duo on the severed floor. It didn’t come as a surprise to any fan that Helly, who has never been one to respect the authority of those who keep the truth from her, wouldn’t strike a chord with Miss Huang.
While the 18-year-old’s character has had a field trip at Lumon, their exchanges have enthralled fans. After all, Miss Huang is not one who’ll tolerate any doubts over her authority.
While the deputy manager of the severed floor has always tried to dominate Lower’s innie on the severed floor, the 39-year-old has no qualms about playing the role of a helpful senior off-camera, something Bock’s character would take a cue from. We all know she won’t, though. That’s what we love her for.
