IT’S no wonder the residents of Montego Street struggled to secure a GP appointment – after two docs ended up in the morgue.
Morphine-addicted Dr Vinnie Shah, played by Archie Lal, tragically took his own life after a twisted blackmail plot rocked the street.
ARCHIE BUCHANAN
Archie Buchanan was killed by his own mother[/caption]
IN shocking scenes, Archie Buchanan, portrayed by Gily Gilchrist, met a grisly demise after his own mother killed him following months of emotional abuse.
His final River City moments created a nail-biting cliffhanger – after his body was, fittingly, tossed over the side of a cliff before his ghost returned to haunt the street.
FI KYDD
FROM drug addiction to grooming gangs, teen pregnancy, euthanasia and mental health – soaps educate as well as entertain.
And Fi Kydd, played by Monica Gibb, shone a light on the dangers of drink-driving after the Shieldinch fave died behind the wheel following a dramatic confrontation.
JO ROSSI
JO Rossi, played by Allison McKenzie, also lost her life in a horror road drama – and Shieldinch residents quickly pinned the blame on her.
A happy homecoming turned deadly after Jo was rushed to hospital in a life-changing smash that claimed the lives of her husband and eldest son.
SHONA HENDERSON
SHONA Henderson’s honeymoon period was brutally cut short after she died from a brain tumour shortly after tying the knot with her beloved Raymond.

EWAN MURDOCH
The Murdoch family tensions took a bloody turn resulting in Ewan’s death[/caption]
EWAN Murdoch plunged to his untimely death after an explosive showdown with the biggest gangster to walk the streets of Shielinch – his notorious dad Lenny Murdoch.
The bloody fall death came after Ewan, played by Chris Brazier, confronted his old man about the mysterious disappearance of his mum – and fingers were quickly pointed at Lenny.
THOMAS MCCABE
THOMAS McCabe was blasted to death amid a gun-toting face-off involving Lenny Murdoch in the Arcade.
DEREK HENDERSON
Derek ‘Deek’ Henderson died after a hit-and-run[/caption]
ADORED fan fave Derek ‘Deek’ Henderson, played by Gordon McCorkill, appeared in the very first episode of River City but was killed off in a tragic hit-and-run ten years later in 2012.
SEAN KENNEDY
BADIE Sean Kennedy’s time on Montego Street was cut short after a poker to the head claimed his life in 2012.
GARETH O’CONNOR
GARETH O’Connor’s decision to turn police informer cost him his life after a furious rival set out for revenge.
RAYMOND HENDERSON
AFTER stumbling across a shock corruption plot on the street, amateur sleuth Raymond paid the ultimate price.
He was drugged and killed in a staged suicide in a bid to ensure his silence.
