Randy Orton is undoubtedly one of the most violent and fiercest villains to have ever graced the Squared Circle. Several legends experienced their WWE careers ending after being humiliated by Orton.
Orton may be one of the most underrated wrestlers in the WWE, but he is unmatched when it comes to destroying the careers of WWE veterans. During the Covid period, Orton defeated some of the biggest stars in WWE and forced them to say goodbye to the promotion.
WWE stars who left the promotion and joined AEW in 2020 because of Randy Orton

Some of the WWE legends who left the promotion after getting defeated by Randy Orton are listed below.
Matt Hardy
In 2020, Randy Orton sent many WWE stars to its rival promotion, AEW, after humiliating them inside the ring. Matt Hardy is the first name on the list who joined AEW after being humbled by the Viper on the Feb 10th episode of the RAW.

When Hardy demanded an explanation for Orton’s attack on Edge, the Viper first landed an RKO and then finished the job with a Con-Chair-To. Just a month later, Matt Hardy joined the AEW.
Christian
The next name on this infamous list is Christian. In an unsanctioned match on June 15, 2020, Orton thrashed Christian so badly that he failed to leave the arena on his feet, and a stretcher had to be brought on to assist him.
Christian signed a multi-year contract with All Elite Wrestling (AEW) on March 7, 2021. He made his in-ring debut for AEW at Double or Nothing on May 30.
The Big Show
The biggest surprise on this list is probably the Big Show. Randy Orton challenged ‘The Giant’ and went on to defeat him. On July 20, 2020, Orton took on the Big Show in an unsanctioned bout. Though the Viper struggled initially, he ended up taking ‘The Giant’ down with his signature move, RKO.

A year later, in a surprising move, the Big Show joined WWE’s rival promotion too on February 24, 2021, and with that, the show ended after 22 years in the WWE. He signed a multi-year contract with AEW, where he would also serve as a color commentator along with being a wrestler.
Edge
Randy Orton defeated Edge at WrestleMania 36 on April 5, 2020. The match was ‘The Master Manipulators’ first singles bout in 9 years. Randy Orton went on to defeat the Edge again in a “Greatest Wrestling Match Ever” at WWE Backlash on June 14, 2020.
Despite being one of the biggest superstars in the promotion, he bid farewell to WWE just months later and joined the AEW. These were some of the WWE legends Randy Orton defeated and chased away from WWE.
