INCREDIBLE plans have been revealed for a superfast train dubbed “Tube for Europe” that will have metro-style stops across the continent – slashing travel times to just hours.
Passengers will be able to hop on the metro-like train from London and reach cities like Prague and Rome in no time.

The radical new high-speed rail system is set to transform European travel.
Starline promises speeds of 250mph, whisking passengers from Helsinki to Berlin in just over three hours – a trip that currently takes a full day.
Even the long overnight journey from Kyiv to Berlin will be cut to just a few hours.
According to plans, every European country will have at least one station – with routes extending as far as Turkey, Ukraine, and the UK.
The concept plan reimagines the continent’s rail network as a Metro-style system with frequent stops in key cities.
Unlike traditional rail networks, Starline will feature purpose-built stations outside major cities to serve as a national landmark.
Plans include concert halls, museums, and event spaces, turning train stations into vibrant public venues rather than just transit points.

Wrapped in a striking deep blue, Starline’s sleek look reflects the European flag, depicting the continent’s high-speed metro service.
And just like the tubes, the high-speed network will have no class divisions, offering a flexible travel experience to passengers.
Coaches will have quiet spaces for work and socialising and even café spaces for those looking to relax.
Security will be AI-driven and sensor-based, using biometric verification and automated threat detection to eliminate long queues at checkpoints.
Starline is also set to revolutionise long-haul freight transport across Europe.
Fresh produce, medical supplies, and critical manufacturing components could be delivered in record time, bolstering supply chains across the continent.
While Starline is still a concept, its groundbreaking vision and promises of speed could mark the beginning of a new era in European travel.
Off to Europe
This comes as new plans have been revealed to expand international train routes from the UK, which would double the number of European countries on offer.
Routes have been suggested connecting the UK to seven other cities in Germany, Switzerland, France, and Italy.
A planned expansion of London St Pancras International station to allow for this would see as many as 5,000 passengers travel through an hour.
Yann Leriche, the chief executive of Getlink, said: “We are keen to drive forward attractive opportunities for low-carbon [travel] with a range of new destinations in Germany, Switzerland and France.”
A spokesperson for London St Pancras Highspeed added: “Many European cities could be reached directly by train in under six hours, which we believe is really competitive with short-haul air travel.”
However, the plans are rather ambitious, with no set time frame for when these could launch.
And not only that, but the only current operator in the UK is Eurostar, although both Virgin and Evolyn have revealed rival plans for European routes.
It’s hoped new services could reach the major cities of Marseille and Bordeaux in France, Cologne and Frankfurt in Germany, Zurich and Geneva in Switzerland, and Milan in Italy.
