Pacing Is Not Gachiakuta’s Biggest Problem but It’s Anime Should Avoid the Repeated Stories That Ruins the Manga to Some Extent

Gachiakuta manga has taken the internet by storm and for the right reasons. The series is well-appreciated and praised for its concept, characters, and much more. But what fans are looking forward to is the animated adaptation. That is if it avoids one of the key problems associated with the manga itself.

To be fair, every manga has its fair share of pros and cons but Kei Urana’s series has a pitfall. This mustn’t be ignored at any cost especially when it comes to anime. It has less to do with the pacing and more to do with the redundancy albeit the series’ remarkable commentary on class and society.

Gachiakuta manga’s redundancy may ruin the anime

Gachiakuta is a dark fantasy shonen series that is gaining popularity and momentum for its themes. The manga has a vibrant color scheme which is catchy and pleasing to the eyes. On top of that, Kei Urana’s style clubbed with Ando Hideyoshi’s graffiti art makes it unconventional.

When we look at the characters we’re reminded of My Hero Academia and Soul Eater in most aspects. But the series stands out with its unique flair especially when it comes to the characters’ aura. The art style is something that works brilliantly with Studio Bones’ animation.

Like most Shonen series, however, Urana’s work has issues that are yet to be resolved. The common problems are either pacing or sidelining the characters. Sometimes, the story gets too convoluted with unnecessary information. Here, it isn’t pacing or sidelining but the redundancy that may affect the anime.

Redditors on r/gachiakuta agreed to the incessant issue of repeated scenarios which add to the redundancy. It is the “show don’t tell” aspect that serves as a hook for readers and viewers. But there are moments in the manga where explanations don’t make sense.

It is obvious yet there could be several reasons for that. We know that illiteracy thrives in certain fandoms. To make things clear, it ended up saturating it further. But the anime could avoid it in the long run and spotlight the series’ potential through its take on class and society.

Kei Urana’s refreshing take on class and society

Kei Urana is indeed a promising and budding mangaka, but she is also a visionary. On several occasions, she spoke up in favor of fellow artists. This has to do with the ongoing issue of piracy and leaks that eventually affect the mangaka. But her worldview and opinions are mirrored splendidly in the manga.

Many things make Gachiakuta a cut above the rest be it visuals or its characters. But it is the concept of class and society that are mushed together within the seams and folds of trash. The title itself translates to “literal trash” but it packs depth and profundity in every sense.

Rudo’s resolve and move toward justice and revenge stems from how he is wronged. The wealthy class and its treatment of tribals parallel the social inequality that the series brings out perfectly. It isn’t merely a revenge and action-packed story but a compelling narrative of morality and humanity.

The unique power system coupled with the impressive worldbuilding makes it an offbeat and novel series. The characters have a pizzazz to them and do not exist merely to aura farm compared to most Shonen series. To add to that, the series has dystopian and dark undertones which makes it rather impressive.

Most Shonen manga face issues and problems ranging from pacing to inconsistency. But that doesn’t mean it cannot be resolved or rectified. For one thing, we know that Gachiakuta anime has a load of potential. All we need to do is keep calm and place our faith!

Gachiakuta anime is slated for release in July 2025.
