Every month, there are a few celebrities we listen to when it comes to their book recommendations. Among the most famous ones are Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon and Jenna Bush Hager. After all, these proud A-list bookworms have won over their fans with their thought-provoking and page-turning books and earned quite a reputation because of it.

Knowing how valuable their stamp of approval is, it’s really saying something when all three of them approve of the same book. As it turns out, shortly after Winfrey announced her latest pick, The Tell by Amy Griffin, both Witherspoon and Bush Hager showed up to support.

“It’s so powerful that never before have I been anywhere where Reese Witherspoon’s book club, and Jenna’s book club and my book club are all in the same room,” Winfrey said in a video posted to Instagram of her presenting a book Q&A with Griffin and Mariska Hargitay.

Then, as cheers take over the crowd, Witherspoon and Bush Hager, who were sitting side by side in the audience, walk up the stage for a group photo.

“And I’m here for Amy Griffin!” Winfrey adds.

“When a book is so important it brings @reesesbookclub@readwithjenna, and our book club together to celebrate it!” Winfrey wrote in the caption.

“Wow! I don’t even think the Bible has gotten this degree of book promo before!” one follower joked in the comment section. “Honestly my bookworm brain can’t even compute this! ICONIC!!” wrote another.

In Winfrey’s original announcement, the former TV host said the story is “an extraordinary memoir by an author who ran literally from the dirt roads where she grew up in Texas to the streets of New York City in search of perfection as a wife, as a mother, as a highly successful businesswoman.”

“But what she did not realize was that she was running from something that she had buried many years ago,” Winfrey detailed. “And then one night her young daughter tells her, ‘Mom you’re really nice, you’re here with us but you’re actually not here.’ And then starts to embark on this incredible journey that leads to the discovery of a childhood secret.”

“What she found out about herself and her past made me recognize how powerful the desire to forget it and also how powerful the desire remember is and how your life can change when you reconcile the two,” Winfrey reflected.

“From the outside, Amy’s life looked perfect. She is a visionary in her field, the mother of four beautiful children, wife to an adoring husband, and somehow still had the energy for long daily runs in Central Park,” Winfrey wrote in another Instagram post about the memoir. “But there was something Amy was running from, something she had kept hidden from everyone in her life—including herself. I was floored when I read her story.”

While Witherspoon and Bush Hager attended Winfrey’s Q&A, The Tell wasn’t their selection for the month. Witherspoon recommended Broken Country by Clare Leslie Hall while Bush Hager selected The Dream Hotel by Laila Lalami.

No matter which one of these recommendations you chose to follow, we’re betting it’ll be an incredible read no matter what!
