The Nefertari family in One Piece which initially featured in the Alabasta saga has been one of the biggest mysteries within the storyline for the longest time. Since they were introduced in One Piece, there have been some aspects of their members that have been kept hidden by Eiichiro Oda, and this has caused major confusion among the fans.
One such mystery about the Nefertari family that One Piece fans are confused about is connected to Nefertari D. Lili, the queen of the Arabasta Kingdom during the time of the Void Century. She was first mentioned within the narrative by Imu in One Piece, and according to him, she made a grave mistake by scattering the Poneglyphs that led to the overall plot of the series.
And while it might take some time for Eiichiro Oda to reveal what was the real reason behind Lili’s mistake, it might have developed a connection that hints at Vivi’s future Devil Fruit ability. This Devil Fruit ability has already been seen in One Piece and it belongs to none other than Bartholomew Kuma, the father of Jewelry Bonney.
Nefertari D. Lili’s mistake in One Piece
Imu’s introduction in One Piece was one of the most significant moments in the series as he eventually revealed a great deal of details about the Void Century and the Celestial Dragons. One detail that Imu revealed in Chapter 1085 was that the entire history of the Void Century is recorded on the Poneglyphs that have been scattered all over the One Piece world.
According to Imu, the character responsible for this blunder was none other than Nefertari D. Lili, who just like was one of the twenty monarchs who founded the World Government. Imu stated that this mistake by Lili became the biggest problem for the World Government in One Piece and they still don’t know if it was a mistake or an intentional action.
There are many speculations about why Nefertari D. Lili scattered the Poneglyphs all over the world, but the main question is how she managed to do it as Poneglyphs are massive steles that are quite heavy. Thus, there are still a lot of details hidden about Lili’s mistake which will eventually make up for an enticing plot in One Piece’s future.
Lili’s mistake hints at Vivi’s future Devil Fruit power
Although there is no way of knowing Lili’s intentions behind scattering the Poneglyphs all over the One Piece world, the only ability that could have helped her in moving such massive steles is Bartholomew Kuma’s Nikyu Nikyu no Mi. The Devil Fruit has a power that can teleport people and objects to a completely unknown place.
This ability helped the Straw Hat Pirates escape the raid on Sabaody and reach places where they could train and come back stronger after the time skip. According to a theory posted by u/OperationMelodic4273 on Reddit, this Devil Fruit was most probably used by Lili to scatter the Poneglyphs and it is quite possible that Vivi also gets this power in the future of One Piece.
As Vivi is indirectly a part of the Straw Hat crew, and she will sooner or later unite with Luffy and everyone else, she might need a power-up that can help her reach the same level as the rest of the crewmates. And the only power that would fit perfectly for Vivi’s character considering her connection with Lili, is Kuma’s Nikyu Nikyu no Mi in One Piece.
