Veteran Nollywood actor Adebayo Salami, popularly known as Oga Bello, is gearing up to celebrate an impressive milestone 60 years in the entertainment industry with the launch of a new cinema film.

In an exclusive chat with Legit.ng, the esteemed actor revealed that his son, Femi Adebayo, will be producing the upcoming project. Explaining his choice, Oga Bello noted that although he could collaborate with anyone, Femi was the first to express interest in producing the commemorative movie.

The actor also spotlighted other family members involved in the film industry. His children Tope Adebayo (director), Sodiq Adebayo (production manager), Rilwan Adebayo (editor), and part-time actors Shola, Hakeem, and Lara have all made contributions to Nollywood. He also mentioned that his wife previously worked as a movie marketer.

Reflecting on the evolution of Nollywood, Oga Bello acknowledged significant improvements in talent, production quality, and financial compensation. He credited these advancements for the industry’s current status and growth.

When asked about the secret behind his youthful appearance and longevity, Oga Bello attributed it to living peacefully, getting sufficient rest, and maintaining a balanced diet without relying on any special routines.

Addressing concerns about aging and health struggles among actors, his son Femi interjected to point out that his father has been relatively lucky, particularly given the absence of proper insurance systems in the earlier years of the industry. Femi emphasized the importance of financial planning, revealing that he has set up pension plans for his team and has one for himself.

Discussing his acting process, Oga Bello shared that to portray a complex role such as that of a cruel king he would study real-life individuals with similar personalities to authentically embody the character.
