Nicola Sturgeon opens up on instrument she’d love to play

NICOLA Sturgeon has revealed that she would’ve loved to learn how to play guitar.

The former First Minister, 54, opened up on her dreams of strutting around the stage with the stringed musical instrument.

However she admitted that she wasn’t the most musically talented student during her younger days.

She told The Times: “I tried to learn the recorder at school and couldn’t master it. I’m not musical.

“The instrument I wish I’d learnt I’d love to strut around playing good stuff on the guitar.”

She goes on to talk about her favourite musicians and says that she’s a huge fan of English pop-rock band Duran Duran.

She added: “I will dance around as long as there’s nobody watching.”

The ex-SNP chief was this week cleared amid the ongoing probe into the SNP’s finances.

The politician was previously arrested and questioned by cops as part of the investigation.

Police also confirmed investigations into ex-SNP treasurer Colin Beattie had concluded.

Elsewhere, Ms Sturgeon confessed that tuning into the soaps helps her to unwind and loosen up.

The ex-Nats supremo told how she enjoys escaping to Albert Square or the Cobbles when she wants to switch off.

She commented: “My guiltiest cultural pleasure is watching an occasional soap opera if I want to veg out and turn my brain off.

“Coronation Street or EastEnders or the Scottish River City, which outrageously the BBC have just decided to axe.”

It comes after the Beeb announced that the Scots drama will be binned next year after an impressive 24 years on the box.

Telly chiefs said the decision to bin the continuing drama comes amid a “change in viewing patterns”
