Former Member of Parliament for Dome Kwabenya, Sarah Adwoa Safo has disclosed that she was ill-treated by her colleagues in Parliament.
According to her, after she was removed from her leadership position in Parliament, she was made a backbencher by her colleagues in the August House.
To her, the ill-treatment was because she is a woman.
To her, the NDC treats its former leaders in Parliament very well, citing Haruna Iddrisu, Afedzi, Muntaka Mohammed’s sitting arrangement after they were removed as an example.
“In Parliament, there is a rule and the rule is that if you have been a leader before you sit behind the leadership. However, I was taken to the backbench when I was removed. It took the intervention of Justin Kodua and Habib Iddrisu to bring me to my rightful place,” she said.
She continued, “I don’t know if they wanted to dampen my spirit or they wanted to frustrate me but to take me to the backbench like a first-timer was something I did not like”.
