My bathroom was riddled with black mould – a £4.20 ‘magic’ buy banished it for 3 months, it sticks to it & lifts it away

A WOMAN has revealed the £4.20 hack she used to banish dangerous mould from her bathroom.

With temperatures plummeting this week, you may have noticed that the cold weather has caused condensation to start to appear on your windows.

Condensation occurs when warm, moist air comes into contact with a cold surface, causing the water vapour in the air to condense into liquid water.

This can then lead to mould growth on walls and ceilings, which can cause a wide variety of health problems, including asthma and rashes.

It can also cause damage to your home and furniture, so it’s best to find the root cause of the issue, and fix it.

Sally Grace, noticed that black mould had begun to grow around her bathtub and in between her tiles.

Taking matters into her own hands, she decided to purchase some Mould Magic gel, which you can pick up from TikTok shop for £4.20.

“I have found this to be the best thing to get rid of mould,” she said via a video posted to her TikTok channel @sallygrace_gardening.

Sally explained that because the product is in gel form, it sticks to the mould, rather than “running all over the place like bleach”.

To use the product, she simply squirted it onto the mould, left it on overnight and then wiped it off using a cloth.

Sally’s bathroom now looks completely mould free, and she said that the mould hasn’t come back in three months.

“I honestly can’t recommend the stuff enough,” she said.

Sally’s video has likely left many people impressed, as it has racked up a whopping 7.2 million views on the video sharing platform.

TikTok users raced to the video’s comments section to share their thoughts on the budget hack.

One person said: “Ooh, I’m going to have to try this!”

Another person said: “I’ve used this and it does really work.”

An expert’s guide to removing mould and repainting walls

Not only does mould look ugly, but if it’s not treated properly it can impact your health.

Ronseal shared its guide to removing, fixing and preventing mould infestations.

You should only remove mould if it’s caused by condensation and covers an area smaller than one metre squared. If the mould is caused by sewage or contaminated water, call in a professional.

Before you start, wear goggles, long rubber gloves and a mask that covers your nose and mouth to protect you from the mould spores. Open the windows for added ventilation but keep the doors shut to avoid spores spreading.

How to remove mould from walls:

  1. Fill a bucket with water and mild detergent like washing up liquid. Or use a dedicated mould remover to make quick work of it.
  2. Dip a cloth in water and wipe the mould off the wall. Don’t brush it as this can release mould spores.
  3. Once you’ve removed the mould, use a dry rag to remove the rest of the moisture.
  4. Throw away the cloth and vacuum the room to make sure you’ve removed all of the spores.

How to paint over mould:

Never ever paint over mould without killing it first. It won’t tackle the source of the problem and will make it look worse.

Once you’ve treated the affected area, use a specialist anti-mould paint to finish the job.

Damp stains can be painted over with a suitable paint like Ronseal’s 6 Year Anti Mould Paint, so long as the damp has dried and the source has been treated. Some damp sealants can be applied directly onto a wet surface, so check the instructions before you begin.

A third person said: “This stuff is incredible, seriously, it’s amazing.”

Black mould is a fungus that grows in warm, wet conditions such as in the bathroom.

Mould can build up for a number of reasons, such as leaking pipes, poor insulation or if condensation is not wiped away after you’ve had a shower.

It’s important to get rid of mould as it can cause many health problems.

According to the NHS, black mould can lead to asthma attacks, allergic reactions and infections.

When removing black mould, it is important to protect yourself by using rubber gloves and a mask that covers you nose and mouth.
