Inside there’s seven full- and travel-size products for pampering skin, hair and body, plus a summer fragrance that’s just perfect for on-the-go spritzing.

The beauty box treats are worth a total of £134, but will set you back just £30 – definitely a bit of a bargain.

So, as a mum of one, I was more than happy to try it out.

Pros:

  • Seven products
  • Good selection of skincare, hair and body care
  • Mainly full-size products
  • Great price

Cons:

  • None that I can see

Rating: 9.5/10

How I tested the M&S Mother’s Day Beauty Box

This was not the most difficult review I’ve ever had to write.

I love skincare, so it was a pleasure to try out all of the goodies on myself.

These products were all new to me, though obviously, I know the brands (who hasn’t heard of Clinique?) and have used other products from their ranges in the past.

I’m a big fan of hand cream as my hands have always been really dry, and This Works is a favourite of mine generally; I tried the bath and shower oils in – yes, you guessed it – the shower and I applied the Wow Bombshell Volumizer to my hair.

I’m wearing the All About Eyes De-Puffing Serum as I write, and The Formula Sleep & Replenish Reviving Overnight Face Oil has become a key part of my evening skincare routine.

It’s early days for both the Clinique and Formula products, but I’ll continue to use them until they run out.

I’m a fan of Floral Street and already own several of its fragrances, both full and handbag size, though I hadn’t tried Sunflower Pop previously.

M&S Mother’s Day Beauty Box review: Quickfire Q&A

How much is the M&S Mother’s Day Beauty Box 2025? The ‘Made for an Icon’ Mother’s Day beauty box costs £30.

Who’s it best for? It’s an ideal gift for mums who love skincare and beauty.

What we loved: Pretty much everything — it’s a great selection of products for a budget price.

What we didn’t: The inclusion of two shower oils – it’s a bit of overkill and a waste of an opportunity. Substituting one of them with a moisturiser, for example, would have been better.

The Made For An Icon Gift Set includes face, body and hair treats[/caption]

Made For An Icon Mother’s Day Beauty Box, £30 from M&S

The box itself looks good; it’s colourful in pink and green, while the title ‘Made For An Icon’ says so much.

The inner lid is printed with the message ‘Because greatness deserves greatness,’ which is a lovely touch. I know my mum would have loved the sentiment, and it brought a tear to my eye.

Anyway, moving on. The pink design continues inside the box, and the products are enveloped in paler pink shredded paper, which I always think improves presentation wherever it is used.

Snuggled among the crinkly wisps, the beauty treats looked inviting, and the effect was of receiving something special.

Does it deliver?

It certainly does.

I tried out all the products as soon as I took them from the box, excitedly popping a little of each onto my hands and wrists to check the texture, fragrance, absorption and feel on my skin.

I then used each of them in turn as they’re supposed to be used and will continue to do so until they’re gone.

While all of them performed as I hoped, I did have my favourites.

The Formula Sleep & Replenish Facial Oil absorbed well, but it was the fragrance of Parma Violets that bowled me over — it was subtle but took me back to being a kid again.

I know that’s not going to be for everybody (just as the sweets aren’t), but it was an unexpected joy for me.

I also loved the metal rollerball on the Clinique eye serum, which cooled my under eyes as soon as it touched them, which felt heavenly.

What’s inside the M&S Mother’s Day beauty box?

The “Made for an Icon” box includes:

  • Clinique All About Eyes Serum De-Puffing Eye Massager (15ml)
  • L’Occitane Almond Shower Oil (75ml)
  • Floral Street Sunflower Pop Eau de Parfum (10ml)
  • Color Wow Xtra Large Bombshell Volumizer (50ml)
  • Bloom & Blossom Off to Bed Indulgence Bath Oil (100ml)
  • This Works Perfect Hands Intense Moisture Cream (30ml)
  • Formula Sleep & Replenish Ultimate Reviving Overnight Facial Oil (28ml)

The Floral Street fragrance is light and feels summery – which works with its Sunflower Pop name – and the box is printed with Van Gogh’s Sunflowers (which also happens to be my favourite painting, weirdly enough).

Though I liked the citrussy scent, I preferred this when it had worn down to its richer base notes.

While perfume is a personal thing, I think this one will hit the mark for many women because it is light and refreshing, so perfect for the (hopefully approaching) summer — and its size means it’s easy to keep in your handbag.

Spoil mum with well-known brands, such as Clinique, Floral Street and This Works[/caption]

The same goes for the Perfect Hands Intense Moisture from This Works.

It’s a 30ml travel size (it’s sold in M&S as 75ml and costs £20), so it doesn’t take up much room in your bag.

The cream absorbs quickly and is not sticky, unlike many intense hand creams I have tried in the past.

It contains larch extract, which has a firming effect, and essential oils chosen primarily to reduce the appearance of age spots (but they also smell lovely).

Coconut oil and hyaluronic acid are included for their hydrating and moisturising properties, and I found that immediately after using, my hands did look smoother.

It’s a temporary effect, of course, but a welcome one nonetheless.

My hair is becoming finer as I get older, so I hoped the Color Wow Extra Large Bombshell Volumizer would help disguise that, but I didn’t feel it did much to improve the look.

I use straighteners on my hair, so perhaps that’s why, but even letting my hair dry naturally, I didn’t notice a difference.

Of the two shower oils, I preferred the L’Occitane product, which has a subtle scent.

It had a thicker feel than the Bloom & Blossom version and was also less ‘oily’. Add water to it, and it changes into a light, milky foam that washes away without greasiness.

The Bloom & Blossom oil has an uplifting, fruity fragrance, but it was thinner and left an oily feel afterwards.

Made For An Icon Mother’s Day Beauty Box, £30 from M&S

How much is the M&S Made For An Icon Mother’s Day Beauty Box 2025?

This beauty box costs £30 from M&S.

In my opinion, it’s £30 well spent, as there are seven beauty products inside, all of which are either full size or a substantial size, so mums can pamper themselves for weeks.

The price is on par with a (pricey) box of chocolates or bouquet of flowers, but will last longer than both — and is much more imaginative.

Where to buy the M&S Mother’s Day Beauty Box

The beauty gift is available both in-store at Marks & Spencer and online. Delivery costs £3.99, unless you spend over £60, in which case it’s free.

It is available online at the time of writing and will be appearing in selected stores from 6 March – so there’s still plenty of time to get your hands on one before Mother’s Day on 30 March.

M&S Mother’s Day Beauty Box alternatives

M&S itself has released more than one beauty box for Mother’s Day — there’s also the Time to Unwind Wellness Box, which, like the Made for an Icon box, costs £30. It’s worth over £100.

And M&S isn’t the only retailer to have presented a beauty gift for Mother’s Day.

Boots has just launched its Mother’s Day Box, which contains £276.50 worth of skincare, hair, body and make-up products for just £55.

There are 15 items in this one, and nine of them are full size.

Look Fantastic and Next also offer versions.

M&S Mother’s Day Beauty Box: The Verdict

As a mum I would love to receive this for Mother’s Day. It’s a thoughtful and personal gift that will last for weeks.

Flowers are displayed in the home for everybody, chocolates have to be shared, but this – it’s unapologetic pampering just for her.

The price is pretty amazing for what’s inside, and it’s affordable even for kids (with a little help from any siblings, perhaps).

It makes buying a gift for mum no hassle at all – which will come as a relief to teens, I bet.

I think the whole gift box idea is still rather novel, and thoughtful packaging helps add to the overall experience.

This, together with the well-chosen mix of goodies inside that are in sizes you can actually use (rather than tiny samples), makes this an ideal gift for Mother’s Day.
