The tense exchange unfolded during the show’s Confessions Week, where couples build trust by sharing personal secrets.
But things took a turn when Adrian refused to participate in writing a confession letter, a move that left Awhina disappointed.
She told him how she had written a letter, and was upset when he bluntly said he was not willing to put pen to paper for her.
Awhina kept saying, “are you serious?”, as tension between the pair thickened.
They then started to argue with Adrian bluntly refusing to write a letter.
His behaviour upset his wife Awhina, and saw her storming out.
Fans couldn’t believe what they were watching, with one saying: “Wow! That was so rude Adrian! Treat your wife with respect please!”
Another tweeted: “Adrian not writing the letter… whats that about?”
This one added: “Adrian has got serious attitude!”
FANS CALL ADRIAN ‘HYPOCRITE’
Earlier in the episode, fans were left fuming again at Adrian.
Viewers called the groom a “hypocrite” after he made a shock infidelity confession – just moments after he confronted his wife about hers.
Last night, Awhina admitted to having been unfaithful in a previous relationship, a confession that triggered a strong reaction from Adrian.
He argued: “There’s no excuses when it comes to cheating,” making it clear that he was disappointed in Awhina’s actions.
However, the situation took a turn when producers reminded Adrian that he had disclosed his own history of infidelity in his show application.

Adrian clarified that his past indiscretion occurred when he was around 20 or 21 years old, approximately a decade ago.
He stated that he and his then-partner were “on a break” at the time, implying a distinction between his actions and Awhina’s past behavior.
This revelation did not sit well with viewers, with one tweeting: “Ah, Adrian is a hypocrite yet wouldn’t let Awhina talk.”
Another commented: “I think that’s a ‘yes, I’ve also cheated’ from the extremely arrogant and gormless Adrian.”
Someone else said: “Awhina says she’s cheated on a past partner and he says its unforgivable & then we find out he has basically done the same.”
As the episode progressed, tensions escalated between the couple, leading to a heated argument that culminated in Adrian leaving the experiment.
He left his wedding ring on the counter and informed Awhina of his departure via text message.
Mafs couples that have stood the test of time
Loved-up Tayah Victoria and Adam Aveling of series six fame had the first Mafs baby.
The pair couldn’t keep their hands off each other on the programme and quickly found their feet in the outside world, moving into Adam’s Doncaster home.
Just 18 months after meeting, the couple welcomed their daughter Beau.
Season five couple Michelle Walder and Owen Jenkins also managed to make their marriage work away from the cameras and had their first child in December.
Teacher Michelle, 29, has no regrets about taking part in the experiment. She told us: “I just feel very lucky and thankful that it has worked out – and excited for everything to come.”
Michelle and Owen were both sick of dating apps when they applied in 2019.
Owen recalled: “I had been out for some drinks with a friend after work.
“While he was out for a cigarette I was scrolling on Instagram waiting for him to come back in.
“The MAFS advert was the last thing I saw, and I joked, ‘Wouldn’t it be funny if I signed up?’
“A few beers later when I was back at home I sent in the application, and the rest is history.”
Another couple to make Mafs UK history is Zoe Clifton and Jenna Robinson.
Despite a slight rocky start, where they clashed over Jenna’s vegan lifestyle, the show’s first same sex pairing are still going strong.
They even have a successful podcast together called Life With a Pod.
Jenna shed light on being involved in the show earlier this year when she told us: “We’re not legally married, and I never felt like we were. I definitely feel the process makes you take the relationship a lot more seriously and having the help of the experts… if you can survive that process it sets a firm foundation for a long-lasting relationship.”
