MANCHESTER UNITED fans have already fallen “in love” with their incoming signing Diego Leon after watching his airport interview.
The left-back, 18, waved an emotional goodbye to his friends and family in Paraguay, before flying more than 6,000 miles to Manchester on Tuesday.

Leon was actually Ruben Amorim‘s first signing during the January window, but the Red Devils couldn’t complete the deal until he turned 18 in April.
He briefly visited Carrington earlier in the year to complete his initial medical and will officially be confirmed as a new signing this week.
United are expected to pay Paraguayan top-flight side Cerro Porteno an initial £3.2million fee, with add-ons that could rise to £7million.
And the Old Trafford faithful have instantly backed Leon, who seemed wise beyond his years during his latest interview.
Leon bravely stated he has no intention of being farmed out on loan, which often happens to unproven youngsters in need of experience at top clubs.
He told a reporter before boarding his plane at the airport: “Everyone thinks I’ll go out on loan, but I don’t have that mindset.
“I’m going to kill it in the preseason, and within one or two games, I’ll already be playing with them.
“The feelings are indescribable. You feel so many things. The truth is, I’m very happy, very happy to be there.

“I think every player dreams of this, and I have the opportunity. Thank God for the opportunity.
“I think it was a bit quick too, but hey, you have to adapt quickly once you’re there. I’m already a professional.
“I’ll have to adapt a bit to the climate, the language, and all that. I have a lot of confidence in myself.
“I’m going to be at the top with them. Now with the faith intact that I can succeed.”
Due to the pressing need for a left-back in January, United went ahead and signed Patrick Dorgu from Serie A side Lecce as well, with Luke Shaw out injured for over a year.
United fans have taken an instant liking to Leon’s words of wisdom and apparent mature mindset.
Reacting to the interview, one wrote on X: “Love him already”.
While another said: “This is the mindset!!!!! Get him in that squad.”
A third added: “That is what we want to hear .”
A fourth chimed in: “Love the confidence, Diego Leon sounds hungry and ready to prove himself. That mindset can take him far.”
One more wrote “Got a good feeling about him!”
Leon held a farewell party with his loved-ones over the weekend, with many posting ‘goodbye’ pics on Instagram.
The teenager has just one season of first-team football under his belt, making 33 appearances for Cerro Porteno last term.
The full-back is expected to be part of the club’s pre-season plans.
