Capaldi, 28, has previously spoken about how he has suffered from anxiety and panic attacks.

But his secluded studio would offer sanctuary for the much loved star.

Detailed blueprints submitted to East Renfrewshire Council include plans for two balconies, a music storage room and a studio.

The project also includes a toilet, bookcases and small kitchen area.

Capaldi has made a number of improvements to his mansion since he moved to the rural pad.

Last year he was given permission to build a triple garage to house his car collection.

In 2022, Capaldi, who also has a home in London, was given permission to build an extension to the property which included a swimming pool, changing rooms, spa and sauna.

His renovation plans also included a gym, media room, home cinema, an expanded master bedroom and a new kitchen.

Capaldi, who has been diagnosed with Tourette’s syndrome, was forced to take a break from music after struggling to finish his set at Glastonbury 2023.

Thousands of fans in the crowd helped Hold Me While You Wait singer Lewis finish his tracks as he struggled with his condition.

He lost his voice and battled through the performance as he played the main stage set.

The crowd cheered and chanted his name as they attempted to see him through.

Capaldi then gave an emotional onstage announcement about his struggles and told the audience he needed to take a break from music.

He called off his tour to address his mental and physical health in a move he described as ‘the most difficult decision of my life’.

His second studio album, Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent, details his battles with anxiety and being a hypochondriac.

He is believed to be edging closer to a comeback and has recorded new material.

East Renfrewshire Council are expected to issue a decision on his studio plans in due course.
