Kate Middleton’s Travel Comments Could Mean a Royal Milestone Is on the Horizon for Prince Louis

This year could be a big one for our favorite little cheeky prince. In a recent conversation at London’s annual St. Patrick’s Day parade, Kate Middleton teased that she might take her family abroad in 2025. Specifically, they might head Down Under.

While talking to an Australian reservist, the Princess of Wales revealed that her 11-year-old son Prince George is “fascinated” by the fact that he has been to Australia and New Zealand when he was just a baby. And so we’re sure he would be just as “fascinated” to revisit the countries and understand all the new experiences he is having.

If the family went back to the southern hemisphere — or, heck, anywhere abroad — that would be huge for Prince Louis. It would mark the 6-year-old’s first ever royal tour. Unlike his siblings Prince George and Princess Charlotte or his cousin Prince Archie — all of whom joined their parents on tours as a baby — Prince Louis has yet to reach this royal milestone, per Marie Claire.

“I would like to go back there with [my kids] now,” the mom of three said. “It’s finding time to do that. But I love to travel.”

Whether it be to Australia, New Zealand, the Middle East (which she loves!), or beyond, the Princess of Wales thinks it’s “brilliant to experience” traveling. And so she would want to make sure there is extra time if the kiddos tag along.

“It’s making sure that you can combine a bit of work with the children,” she said, per Hello!

We know Prince Louis is [understandably!] not the biggest fan of official royal engagements, but maybe he would like to experience another country’s sporting events or visit some art museums.

Regardless of where they go and what they do, it would, as we said, be a major milestone for the young royal. Even his dad Prince William and his Uncle Prince Harry went on their first royal tours as babies. So Prince Louis has some serious work to do if he wants to have the same airline miles as his family!

If and when they do take flight, it’s believed that Prince Louis will be separated from his siblings. Royal protocol dictates that when Prince George turns 12 in July he will likely no longer be able to travel with — at the very least — Princess Charlotte. The same goes for traveling with his dad. The rule is to ensure a viable line of succession should there be an accident.

For now, we won’t dwell on the morbid rule, but rather on the exciting fact that Prince Louis might finally enjoy the “brilliant” experience of international travel and tick yet another royal milestone off his list.
