Kaizer Chiefs agree to sell key player to European club!

Kaizer Chiefs have reportedly agreed to sell one of their key and most prized possessions to a club abroad.

Chiefs are currently out in the Netherlands as they begin to step up their preparations for next season.

Chiefs arrive in the Netherlands without Maart

Amakhosi arrived in the European country on Friday and after taking the day to settle, they got to it Saturday. The Chiefs squad was pictured going for an early morning run, similarly to their route in Turkey last season. Then in a video released later on the same day, it was seen that vice-captain Inacio Miguel was leading the side. Upon investigation it was noticed that regular captain Yusuf Maart had not been spotted at all before and during the trip so far.

Upon investigation, FARPost reported that Maart is on the verge of joining an unnamed Austrian club. That club having already reached a club to club agreement with Chiefs!

Captain set to leave the club for overseas club

“Kaizer Chiefs are without their captain, Yusuf Maart, for their pre-season tour in the Netherlands, with an overseas move imminent. Maart, who recently extended his contract with Amakhosi, did not travel with the team that departed on Thursday night for Amsterdam. Despite recently signing a new contract, an Austrian club is close to securing the signature of the former Sekhukhune United captain, who is currently in South Africa awaiting his work visa. It appears that the two clubs have reached an agreement, but the 29-year-old player is still awaiting the issuance of his visa.” Wrote the publication.

It is believed that Chiefs have also released Venezuelan international Edson Castillo while signing Siphesihle Ndlovu. Now with talk of Maart leaving it all points to a midfield revamp at Amakhosi heading into the next season. It remains to be seen when the move will be made official and if another midfielder is added.
