Kaido’s Story Isn’t Over: One Piece Theory Hints the Real Origin of ‘Ragnarok’ That Luffy and Loki Will Start Together

One of the most disappointing aspects of the Wano arc in One Piece was the disappointing defeat of Kaido, the main antagonist of the story. As fans know, Kaido was deemed the strongest creature, and his significance within the storyline as a character has been huge. However, the way he was taken down was not accepted by many fans.

Because of this, there have been rumors that Eiichiro Oda is not going to end an important character like Kaido in such a disheartening fashion, and as a result, it is possible that he will try to bring him back. And the best time to bring Kaido back is right now, as the Elbaph arc is currently going on in One Piece, and it has some hereditary connections to Kaido.

According to a One Piece theory, Kaido not only has a hereditary connection with Elbaph but also has links to the upcoming battle between Loki and Luffy. His signature attack, Ragnarok, is something that will be created once again in Elbaph, thus hinting at his return in the final saga of One Piece.

Kaido’s hereditary connection to Elbaph

The former Emperor of the Pirate world in One Piece and the strongest creature in the world, Kaido of the Beast Pirates, was one of the most important characters in the series. He was a powerful figure who had a huge impact on the development of the current pirate era, but his origin was a mystery that was unraveled in Wano.

It was revealed that Kaido belonged to the Oni race, which, just like the Lunarian, was quite rare and thus was experimented on. And while it was not officially confirmed by Eiichiro Oda, the Oni tribe had connections to the ancient Giants of Elbaph, which included One Piece characters like Oars and Oars Jr. and are currently being discussed in the Elbaph arc.

According to the narrative, they were the original conquerors of the New World, but they do not exist any longer. They were on a completely different level in terms of power and strength, and their connection to the Oni tribe in One Piece, which includes Kaido and Yamato, is quite evident.

One Piece theory hints at the origin of Ragnarok

According to a One Piece theory posted by u/JoyBoy24 on Reddit, Luffy and Loki will recreate the iconic Kaido attack called Ragnarok. The theory states that Loki’s most recent attack, which struck a bolt of lightning on the Adam Tree in Elbaph, is called Ragnir, and Luffy has a fire attack called Red Roc, which was his tribute to his brother Ace.

When combined, the two attacks create Ragnarok, the great battle from the Norse mythology that will most likely be referenced in the Elbaph arc. However, as mentioned above, Ragnarok was an attack used by Kaido during the battle of Onigashima, and while there is no official connection revealed yet, it will certainly be a great callback.

Thus, it creates a possibility that Oda might bring Kaido back (most likely in a flashback) and also give him a concluding arc, which might be better than the one he got in Wano. One Piece fans can only hope that Oda creates some kind of connection between the two aspects of Elbaph.
