The actress started by revealing that one of the most important aspects of their marriage is communication. Being open about how they are feeling and what they are thinking in any given situation can help aid many big conflicts in a relationship. Hilarie Burton further elaborated on the same, revealing that they had to not just be understanding of their partner’s change but also anticipate it. She confessed that both she and Jeffrey Dean Morgan have gone through many professional phases.
We both have gone through different professional phases where maybe we’re super ambitious in one phase of our life, and then we’re nesting in another phase of our life. And we try to work in tandem so that we’re each compensating for each other.
They have played different kinds of characters over the years. They have also had moments when they are very active in the film scene and moments when they are more laid back. With this, she mentioned that they work in sync with each other, trying to accommodate the other’s phases and be a team in the best way possible.
Now I’m like a warmer, more aggressive version and he seems to like that.
Speaking on more of a personal level, Burton explained that she has definitely changed a lot compared to who she was when she first met Morgan. However, this isn’t a bad thing in the slights, with her even mentioning that Morgan likes the person she has become now, being more fierce and outspoken.
