And Waterford Treasures has unveiled its brand-new Children’s Viking Tour.
Kids can get the full experience as young visitors are turned into fearless Viking adventurers, in the heart of Ireland’s oldest city.
From July 5, families can step back over a thousand years and walk the very streets as Vikings.
The Children’s Viking Tour offers an immersive and magical way for kids to learn history, by living it.
Located within a two-minute walking distance of the main car park, the adventure begins at the Viking House.
The house is built to be a full-size replica of a real viking home.
Upon arrival you are greeted by a Viking guide and handed your own toy sword that you can keep later on.
From there you are off on a light walking tour through Waterford’s ancient narrow streets.
You share the experience as the groups consist of 25 people on each tour.
Explore the ancient items like tools and transport the Vikings used, with a 40 foot longboat available to see.
Guides share ancient stories in Reginald’s Tower, built for the Viking Rognvald, King of Waterford.
Children are invited to explore the day-to-day of Viking life when they return to the Viking House at the tour’s end.
