So if you’re thinking of sprucing up your home this spring then you might want to take note.
Interior experts have said there are paint colours that will instantly make your home look more expensive but without the hefty price tag.
And it can not only elevate a space but also make it look effortlessly elegant and give the illusion of a more expensive, designer-finished interior.
Victoria Yardley, founder of eco-friendly paint brand Victory Colours, revealed that soft, warm neutrals are dominating interiors right now.
Colours like creamy beiges, warm taupes and soft greiges have grown in popularity because of their ability to create a refined and sophisticated aesthetic.
She said: “Warm neutral shades such as soft greige, oatmeal, and warm taupe create a sophisticated backdrop that makes a room feel both cosy and refined.
These shades work in any room – from the kitchen to the bedroom – and complement a range of interior styles

“These hues have an understated elegance that works beautifully with natural materials like wood, stone, and linen, enhancing the overall look of a space.”
A big reason why warm neutrals give homes an expensive look is that they create a seamless flow between rooms, making interiors feel more polished and intentional.
Victoria explained: “These shades work in any room – from the kitchen to the bedroom – and complement a range of interior styles, from Scandi minimalism to classic country chic.
“They create a calm, cohesive aesthetic that instantly makes a home feel more considered and luxurious.”
So, if you’re looking for a quick and affordable way to upgrade your home this spring, swapping out bold or cool-toned shades for soft, warm neutrals could be the easiest way to get that designer look on a budget.
These subtle, earthy tones have long been associated with high-end homes, favoured by luxury interior designers for their ability to create a calm, cohesive look that feels effortlessly stylish.
It’s no surprise that warm neutrals are having a moment in celebrity homes, too.
Molly-Mae Hague, known for her chic and minimalist taste, recently unveiled her home’s elegant beige and greige interiors, showing how these colours add an instant touch of sophistication.
Meanwhile, Stacey Solomon, a fan of soft, warm tones, often shares snaps of her cosy-yet-luxurious neutral-painted rooms at Pickle Cottage.
Caroline Thornborough, of specialist paint brand Thorndown, also said that these ‘earthy tones’ give the home a light and spacious feel.
PERFECT PAIRINGS

IF you really want to enhance your home and give it an expensive feel on the cheap, then the little finishings can make all the difference.
The experts have said that it’s not just about the colour itself, but also what you pair it with.
And when it comes to warm colours, a matt or eggshell finish is perfect for the home.
Caroline noted: “A matt or eggshell finish gives walls a velvety, soft appearance.
“This helps to diffuse light and conceal imperfections, which is a trick often used in premium interior design.”
She said: “Lighter, earth-toned neutrals reflect more natural light, giving rooms a spacious and airy feel.
“They also act as a perfect blank canvas, allowing high-quality furnishings and statement pieces to stand out, mimicking the feel of a carefully curated, high-end interior.”
Another trick used in luxury homes is playing with texture.
Caroline explained that adding layers is a simple way to make a space look more expensive without forking out hundreds of pounds.
She added: “Pairing soft neutral walls with rich textures like velvet cushions, linen curtains, or a wool rug creates an inviting, expensive-looking space.
“Layering different shades of beige and greige also adds depth and interest.”
