GHOST hunters have left people divided over a photograph of an “entity” lingering near a popular Irish castle.
The castle, which dates back to 1209, was visited by Richard and Anthony from Paranormal Supernatural Investigations Ireland on Sunday night.
And the pair said the blood moon the night before made the experience all the more incredible.
They revealed that they conducted a “fascinating experiment” at the stone circle outside of Kinnitty Castle in Co Offaly, which was built within the last 100 years.
The stone circle is home to a lavish medieval revival castle with lots of history dating back to 1209, which is also drenched in original features, heritage colours and regal atmospheres.
The original castle was destroyed in 1209 and was rebuilt by the Normans in 1213, which is also a period that St Finnian’s was built near the castle.
Throughout the centuries, it was replaced and confiscated by numerous people and groups, including the plantation of Offaly.
However, the land around Kinnitty Castle is “very active in general”, meaning a lot of paranormal activity is happening.
After the blood moon event on Friday, March 13, Richard and Anthony said the site appeared to have an electric atmosphere, which made their equipment record some strong hits of paranormal activity.
The pair said: “This location made a perfect spot for our investigation.
“As we set up, we noticed that our devices were responding in ways we hadn’t anticipated.
“We knew for certain that it wasn’t any member of the public or our team triggering these readings.”
They revealed that they witnessed “one of the most intriguing moments” when they captured an image in a photograph in the direction where their equipment had activated.
A mass of energy appeared in the first picture, but it wasn’t present in the next photograph that they took, making the pair believe it was revealing its existence to them.
They added: “This leads us to believe that we encountered an entity making itself known within the stone circle.
“The historical significance of Kinnitty Castle adds another layer to this experience, making it even more compelling.”
The pair stated that it “raises questions about what—or who—might be lingering in this site”, making people wonder if more entities are lingering in the area due to its incredible history.
A person who was joined as part of the investigation said: “It was an incredible night!”

The community of Paranormal Supernatural Investigations Ireland were left shocked by their discovery as they shared their thoughts on what the entity is.
However, people all seemed to report seeing something different in the images.
One person wrote: “Looks more like an animal, wolf?”
Another added: “A blonde child carried by a dark figure is what I see there.”
The third person said: “That’s incredible, not an orb or discolouration, but an actual mass with defining features.”
Another person wrote: “We all see something so different!
“I see a person in dark cloak or shawl standing next to, saddling, or something, by a pony. How exciting!!!”
