I’m a 26-year-old woman but get mistaken for a 14-year-old boy – people also think my younger girlfriend is my mum

A WOMAN in her twenties has revealed that she is often mistaken for a 14-year-old boy, with strangers also assuming that her girlfriend is her mum.

Liv Hirst, 26, from Leeds, is two years older than her partner Phoebe, but is regularly mistaken for being her offspring.

Recounting a recent incident on her TikTok channel @livunderthestairs, Liv revealed that a taxi driver called her a “good boy” for carrying her suitcase, assuming that she was helping out her mum.

The taxi driver then requested that “mum” go in one side of the taxi, and Liv go in the other, “because you’re slim like me”.

“So not only has he called Phoebe old, he’s called her fat as well,” Liv fumed.

During the journey, the taxi driver began chatting to Phoebe about whether Liv, who has relatively short hair and dresses in an androgynous style, was a good boy who looked after his mum.

Playing along Phoebe said that Liv was a very good boy, and when he asked Liv her age, she said 14.

“He believed it, what the f***”, she raged.

“I’m 26, and he thought we were going to Paris as mother and son!”

In a second video, Liv revealed that during a recent trip to Aldi, the same thing happened again, when an older lady who Liv had been helping with her shopping asked if Phoebe was “mummy.”

Again playing a long, the couple both said “yes”, to save the woman from embarrassment.

“I just didn’t to upset her,” she said.

Liv added that she has even been mistaken for Phoebe’s son by nurses in the hospital, but thankfully the couple see the funny side of the situation.

The TikTok, has now gone viral, racking up over 1.2 million views on the video sharing platform.

TikTok users raced to the video’s comments section to share their thoughts, with many in disbelief at the situation.

One person said: “Phoebe looks so young, these people are insane.”

“Yeah you look young but Phoebe doesn’t look old enough to be a 14 year old’s mum.”

And Phoebe isn’t the only woman to be mistaken for her partner’s mum lately.

Lauren Evens, 31, was recently trolled after sharing pictures of herself with her bride Hannah Kaye, with many thinking the pair were mother and son.

“Some people said it was cute that my 10-year-old son was walking me down the aisle,” said social media promoter Lauren.

Others said it was disgusting that I was kissing a young boy.

“I paid thousands of pounds to look younger and change my body and appearance, but my wife is just very lucky to have incredible genes.
