IKEA to open new location in busy Irish city, that’s eight times bigger than other stores & largest shop outside Dublin

IKEA is set to open another Irish store, in a huge boost to shoppers.

The latest outlet will be the largest store outside of Dublin across all of Ireland.

It represents a significant milestone in IKEA’s expansion throughout Ireland, creating 15 local jobs for the area.

This is it’s seventh Plan and Order Point in Ireland, located at Tramore Road Business Park on Tramore Rd in Priorsknock, Waterford.

The new Waterford site is set to open at 10am on July 17.

It’s set to be the largest IKEA store outside of Dublin, with 100 products available to purchase on site.

The enhanced Plan and Order Point experience is a first for the brand in Ireland, and is designed to offer unparalleled convenience and choice.

The store will still focus on bespoke kitchen, wardrobe and living room storage planning, but will also have a dedicated section with 100 products for immediate purchase.

Products range from popular accessories like KALLAX units and RÅSKOG trolleys to essential home items and products for €5 or less.

Or, choose the Click and Collect option which allows shoppers to order any IKEA item online and pick it up in store for free.

The new store will also serve as an in-store returns location.

The shop will be cashless, accepting both card and digital payments only.

Spanning 840 square metres, the store is slightly smaller than IKEA’s Carrickmines store in South Dublin, which is approximately 1,393 square metres.

But it is over eight times bigger than all other Plan and Order Points in Ireland, which typically range from 70-100 square metres.

The increase in size will allow for a more expansive and immersive customer experience, with different affordable kitchen ideas and an appliance studio on site.

This will open up 15 new jobs in the Waterford area, in a huge boost to the local economy.

MORE TO COME

Jayne Owen Gauld, Market Manager, IKEA Ireland said: “We are incredibly excited to bring this IKEA experience to Waterford.

“This new Plan and Order Point is not just our largest store outside of Dublin; it’s a testament to our commitment to making IKEA more accessible and convenient.

“We’re really looking forward to becoming a part of the vibrant Waterford retail landscape and community.”

The Plan and Order Point is just 1.5km from Waterford City Centre, making it easy for customers to get to.

As part of IKEA’s expansion plan for Ireland, there are three more locations set to open within the next year.
