Professor Ransford Gyampo has disclosed that the “Sex for Grades” allegation leveled against him was a calculated attempt to tarnish his reputation and prevent his nomination as a running mate.
Speaking on 3FM with Blakk Rasta monitored by MyNewsGH, he dismissed the accusations, insisting there was no evidence to substantiate the claims.
“You didn’t see me having sex with anybody, and you didn’t see me doing what they claimed. If there was no student, there was no sex, so what do you talk about?” he questioned.
The political scientist further alleged that the entire plot was orchestrated to discredit him at a crucial time. “I was the one selected to be a running mate, but someone around the person opposed it. To prevent that, they threw dust into the air so that by the time it settled, the person proposing me would change their mind.”
According to him, he was exonerated after due process, reinstated at the university, and even promoted.
“My people believed I was unnecessarily framed, and that’s why they voted for me twice in elections after the incident,” he said.
Despite the ordeal, Professor Gyampo maintains that he has moved on, choosing to focus on the positive lessons rather than dwelling on the past.
