However, there have been other reasons for the movie making headlines. One of the major ones being Zegler facing racist remarks from numerous trolls who made it a mission to tank the movie in one or another.

Interestingly, though, seems like the actress has proved her worth in the best way possible, i.e., through her work. With the early reviews of Rachel Zegler’s movie making it online, it might be time for the haters to accept defeat.

Rachel Zegler proves haters wrong with her Snow White performance

Disney has been on a roll of pushing the remakes and sequels of their classic animated films these past few years. Both with animated features as well as live-action ones. Understandably, the audience has grown tired of that continued occurrence as time went by.

However, Disney’s relentless production of the same has only grown more in bandwidth and unfortunately, it has ruined some iconic franchises for the audience.

As a result, when the live-action remake of Snow White was announced, many fans were concerned that it would meet the same fate as the rest. However, a new layer to their protestations was added when haters started targeting Rachel Zegler who was cast in the titular character.

What followed was a continuous barrage of racist remarks for the actress, quite akin to what Halle Bailey went through when she portrayed Ariel’s character in another one of Disney’s live-action remakes, The Little Mermaid.

In fact, the two also had an elaborate discussion on the matter for Variety in 2023 where both noted how “choosing thankfulness and gratefulness” felt like “choosing peace”.

Regardless, many people were waiting for Zegler’s movie to flop at the box office as they thought there was no chance Snow White could ever work, despite the actress showing her skills in West Side Story.

It turns out, though, they couldn’t be more wrong. The early reviews of Snow White are in, and the enthusiasm in those reviews is palpable. Not only did people applaud Rachel Zegler’s performance in the movie, but also went on to say that the movie was filled with great moments. Especially the musical numbers.

Similarly, user Katcy Stephan praised Zegler calling her a “shining supernova in Snow White”.

User Christopher Rates It also noted their surprise at the movie being “one of [Disney’s] best live-action remakes in years”. After the controversies the movie has been facing since the start, this recent news has finally brought hope to Zegler’s fans.

Fans commend Rachel Zegler for smashing it out of the park in Snow White

After the constant controversies, Disney’s live-action Snow White movie has been shrouded in, the enthusiasm in Rachel Zegler’s fan base has been dampening. Especially since rumors of co-stars Zegler and Gal Gadot feuding over their differing political views started spreading.

As such, this recent news has brought some relief to the fans who have been waiting for Zegler’s Disney princess moment for a long time. Many fans showed their support stating, “Rachel Zegler is always amazing, can’t wait to see her as Snow White!”.

As one fan pointed out, no matter how well an actor performs, there will be people who love to hate them for one reason or another.

The only way to answer the trolls is by making your performance in a movie count. Thankfully, Rachel Zegler seems to have done that and more in Snow White.

Snow White hits the theaters on March 21st, 2025.
