THERE’S nothing quite as frustrating as watching your skin turn into the dreaded tiger bread just a few days after you’ve applied the bronzing solution.
With the weather finally warming up – and Brits set to soak up glorious sunshine this week – one beauty buff has come to the rescue with the ultimate hack that will make your fake tan last ten days.

Thrifty beauty buff Sonia took to TikTok where she revealed an easy way to make your tan last ten days[/caption]
Boots shoppers can now snap up the bargain find for just £6[/caption]
According to Sonia, all you need is a gradual tanning lotion – such as this cult favourite by Garnier[/caption]
According to TikToker Sonia Sood, the answer is simple – and it won’t cost you a fortune either.
Taking to her social media page, the young stunner revealed how you can keep the ultimate glow without having to worry about your bronzed skin going patchy.
Sonia told her viewers: ”If your fake tan lasts five days now, I can guarantee you with this hack it’s going to last ten.
”To avoid tiger bread skin, you want to apply moisturiser after you fake tan – every day until you want that fake tan to come off.
”In order for your fake tan to last longer, instead of using a normal moisturiser every single day, every other day use a gradual tanning lotion.”
The options for the latter on the high street are endless, with one for every budget and preference.
However, in her video, Sonia was raving about Garnier Summer Body Hydrating Gradual Tan Moisturiser, which you can now snap up on sale at Boots for just £6.
Advising fellow beauty buffs to not sleep on the bargain buy, she said: ”I guarantee you, your fake tan will last double the amount of time it already does.”
The purse-friendly buy intensely moisturises and gradually builds a natural-looking bronzed glow in harmony with your skin tone.
Suitable for face and body, this moisturising formula is enriched with Apricot Oil to intensively hydrate skin all day long, leaving it feeling soft and supple.
What’s more, this vegan-friendly lotion is also fast-absorbing with easy, uniform application – it’s essentially summer in a bottle.
It’s not just Sonia singing praises of the moisturiser – online, dozens of Boots shoppers have given the product an impressive 4.4-star rating.
One woman said: ”I like to be quite dark and this moisturiser gives me a glowy deep brown tan and I can keep it topped up everyday.

Superdrug Solait Self Tan Mousse Medium – £4.79 (was £5.99) – Buy Now
- Tester: Abby Wilson, Senior Fabulous Digital Writer
- Review: “This product give a very natural looking tan and if you wanted something a bit bolder, I’d suggest leaving it on longer or choosing a darker shade. I’m impressed with the results, but now my entire room stinks of the stuff. If you’re on a budget and want a tan for last-minute plans, I would say this is one to try. “
bBold Dream Mousse Tan in Dark – £9.50 – Buy Now
- Tester: Josie O’Brien, Senior Fabulous Digital Writer
- Review: “The first thing that hit me about this tan was the “juicy watermelon” scent – it’s delicious. I was left with a natural bronze hue rather than orange glow. My only qualm is that the tan seemed to stick to my dry patches and accentuated ‘strawberry skin’ on my legs. I’m still adding this tan to my arsenal though – the smell, colour and texture are dreamy.”
St Moriz Professional Medium Tanning Mousse – £4.99 – Buy Now
- Tester: Kate Kulniece, Fabulous Writer
- Review: “Not only does St Moriz mousse leave you with a gorgeous bronzed glow, but it also smells fabulous – think Piña Colada on a sunny beach. At first, I was a little bit sceptical cause I’m a gradual fake tan girlie, but this quick developing St. Moriz number may change it all.”
”No streaks whatsoever and I look so naturally brown! Insane product cannot rate more highly.”
A second wrote: ”Love this stuff, the best tanning I’ve tried, no streaks not uneven and doesn’t patch and can gradually build your tan.”
‘I did not expect such a fantastic result after just one use. There’s a distinct “fake tan” smell about it, but I suppose that’s to be expected,” warned someone else.
”I bought this thinking it was a moisturiser with a fake tan element to it, but in hindsight it’s a fake tan which moisturises!
”No issues though as my skin feels beautifully hydrated.”
