So if your hall is north facing and you want to let in light, then you’ll need to listen up[/caption]
So don’t worry if you’re on a budget and don’t have loads of extra cash to splash, as this simple, purse-friendly hack is one you won’t want to miss.
Jade Doutch, a DIY enthusiast from Wales, confirmed that thanks to a lick of paint and some mirror tiles, which you can buy from Amazon from just £7.99 a pack, she was able to give her once dark wall a stylish overhaul.
Posting on social media, Jade documented the step-by-step process of her ‘Crittall Style Mirror Hack’, leaving many totally stunned.
As she showed off her plain white wall, which she confirmed is an “old stone wall” which makes it “very difficult to get food fixings”, she said: “I wanted to add a large mirror to this area to help reflect the light because this room is north facing.
“I worried that the wall wouldn’t withstand the weight of the size of mirror, so I used this trick that I’ve used before.”
The content creator then explained: “So to get the crisp lines, my tip is to paint the frog tape in the colour of the walls first, then go over with two/three coats of your colour block, I’ve used black here.”
Once you’ve painted a large block on your wall, the blonde beauty continued: “And then line up your mirrors – now that bit is actually harder than it looks.”
But clearly impressed with her new mirror display, Jade expressed: “The results are brilliant and I’m so pleased.”
The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @jadedoutch, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly gone viral and racked up two million views.
Jade’s clip has also amassed 76,300 likes, 835 comments and 11,200 saves.
Big divide
But social media users were left divided by the hallway hack – whilst some thought it looked ‘beautiful’, others weren’t totally convinced.
One DIY fan beamed: “Wow what a difference that makes.”

A second chimed in: “Looks fabulous.”
Whilst someone else praised: “I’ve got the same dilemma. I will steal that idea. Thank you.”
However, at the same time, one person said: “I’m not a fan of this type of mirror as it looks cheap for me.”
Another added: “It’s the 70s all over again.”
A third commented: “Every council house I know has one of these lol.”
