Fans have been eagerly awaiting its release, and the moment is here. But before you rush into the battlefield with this new weapon, you might want to know exactly how to unlock it and whether it’s worth the effort or not.

How to unlock R6 Deadeye in Helldivers 2

The R6 Deadeye is part of the brand-new Borderline Justice Warbond. If you’ve got a taste for the Wild West and a love for precision shooting, this is the Warbond for you.

As is typical with Helldivers 2 Warbonds, this one also offers a range of goodies that include Medals, boosters, armor, cosmetics, and, of course, the highly sought-after R6 Deadeye marksman rifle.

Unlocking everything in the Warbond will set you back a hefty 1,000 Super Credits, but that’s not your only option. Players can also take the Medals route, allowing them to unlock specific rewards as they earn them. Medals can be earned by completing missions and other in-game activities.

To grab the weapon, players following the Medals route will need to select the weapon and spend 35 Medals, on the first page. Once you’ve spent those 35 Medals, the R6 Deadeye is all yours, ready to add some precision firepower to your loadout.

Is the R6 Deadeye any good?

The R6 Deadeye is undeniably a fun weapon to try, especially for those who enjoy the precision and strategic value of a marksman rifle. With solid damage output, high stagger, and medium penetration, it can be an effective tool when used correctly.

However, it does have some drawbacks, the biggest being its very long reload speed. Even with its high 300 damage per shot (100 against durable enemies), it requires precision aim (still need to hit weak points). While it can one-shot a few big enemies (like overseers), it requires a headshot, which can be difficult.

It shines against Automatons, as it can stagger and kill enemies like Devastator, and Strider pretty easily. It can also take out gunships as well (with 5 shots to thrusters).

However, it struggles against Terminds and Illuminate, as they can swarm and the weapon’s high reload time can get you in trouble. So it has its uses and can be a solid weapon in certain situations.

In the end, while it may not be the most overpowered weapon, it certainly adds a unique and enjoyable option to the roster. If you enjoy precision and are up for the challenge of landing headshots, it can be a valuable asset in your loadout.
