SMART CASUAL looks good (2.52 Market Rasen, nap)
This looks an excellent chance to end a run of placed efforts in the JP McManus silks that shone at Cheltenham this week. This seven-year-old went close at Leicester last time and this better ground should be right up his street. The handicapper has left his mark alone and trainer Anthony Honeyball has been sending out plenty of winners.
TORNEO (4.12 Chepstow, nb) can turn it on. He was in winning form at Taunton two starts ago and was right on the premises again at Newcastle last time out.
He hasn’t been chasing long and looks capable of improvement from a fair mark.
BLUE LAS (3.37 Chepstow, treble) can keep us out of the red. It’s early days for this mare who won two bumpers before scoring over hurdles at Ffos Las in December.
She was then thrown into the deep end of a Grade 2 at Sandown where she ran a cracker in third. These calmer waters offer a good chance to strike.
I’m in the market for a winner and SPITALFIELD fits the bill (3.57 Market Rasen).
He was a little unlucky when fourth at Doncaster last time, copping interference as he was trying to challenge. He stays well and can make amends for the O’Neill team.
