There is no doubt that Invincible is a sure short hit with the fans. The animated series has raked in unreal numbers over the years. With the last two seasons claiming a perfect of 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, nothing needs to be said about how good it is.
For all the love that the series has garnered, fans have had one complaint with it for a long time – the below-par animation. And it seems like the malady is here to stay, as the release date for the 4th season has been disclosed.
Invincible is still going strong

Invincible has ruled fans’ hearts for years now. Ever since the first season started streaming on Prime Video, there have been no hiccups for the series helmed by Robert Kirkman, Ryan Ottley, and Cory Walker.
There has been no turning back, courtesy of the gory action sequences, a set of characters that the fans can relate to, and a distinguished set of actors lending their voices to the project, including the likes of Mark Hamill, Steven Yeun, Gillian Jacobs, Seth Rogan, and Lauren Cohan.
No wonder the series has never had to worry about courting fans’ love. But there remains an element that has been sticking out like a sore spot – the underwhelming animation.

For all the unbelievable action sequences that are a part of the series, the animation has never been where it needs to be. Inconsistent is the best word to describe that. Sometimes the background is too still. The lack of attention to detail is more often than not apparent to every viewer. And that has been the standard for the past 3 seasons.
Fans are not ready for another ‘rushed season’ of Invincible

Any prudent fan would expect that the series’ consistent success would motivate the studio to splurge some cash and work on the animation standard a little. 3 highly successful seasons later, they all know that is far from happening.
With Season 3 coming to an end on 13th May 2025, fans were hoping that they would get to witness the return of Mark & Co. as soon as possible. Turns out the makers had already anticipated this and had their bases covered.
As Invincible was renewed for a fourth season long before Season 3 aired, it wasn’t a secret that it would start streaming on Prime Videos really soon. So it didn’t really come as a surprise that the series would be released in 2026.
While fans are excited after hearing the news, there is also an apprehension – will they really be able to fix the animation issue with a team that is working round the clock to meet its deadline? Most probably not.
While the animators’ workload is a key concern, many fans can’t wait to see Thragg in action. Not to forget, they have been spoiled with a season a year for quite some time now. A break from the trend might seem like many to be a bigger sore spot than the animation.
