The retailer has been releasing a stellar range of pieces that are perfect for summer.

Shoppers have been in a frenzy over the range, which includes everything from must-have dresses to the ultimate layering pieces.

Now, one fashion fan has taken to social media to share a look at what you can get for under €50.

Instagram user Deirdre Treanor, who posts under the username @theconfidenceandstyleceo shared a short video to the platform for her followers.

In the caption of the post, she wrote: “Five outfits under €50 in @dunnesstores at the weekend.

At the beginning of the clip she can be seen holding a €50 note in Dunnes Stores.

Deirdre said: “Back in Dunnes Stores, I have €50, let’s see how many outfits I can get for €50 and under – let’s go.”

The first outfit she tried on is a popular waistcoat dress that has seen shoppers racing to the tills.

The style lover said it would be perfect for any summer concerts coming up.

She picked it up in a size 8, and added: “[It’s] nice and airy and flowy – just love the detail down the waistcoat area of the dress.”

The Gallery Sylvie Waistcoat Dress is set to have shoppers in a frenzy.

Retailing for just €35, it is set to sell out fast.

Shoppers can pick up the dress in sizes 8 to 20 and all the options are still in stock online.

It features a stunning black waistcoat on top, with silver embellishments in a pattern.

This adds an extra element of style to the piece, and is sure to catch the light beautifully.

It has short sleeves, a plunging v-neckline and a fitted waist – and underneath is a pleated flowing skirt.

Next, Deirdre tried on what she calls a “beach day” outfit.

It is made up of a simple grey t-shirt in a size XS and a small pair of drawstring shorts in a khaki colour.

BEACH DAY

In total, the casual outfit came to €18.

Deirdre noted: “The sun was here at the weekend, let’s hope it’s coming back because this is definitely a beach day outfit.”

For the next look, Deirdre keeps the grey t-shirt on, but swaps the bottoms for a pair of blue and white striped shorts.

Speaking about the t-shirt, she said: “I love the neckline, nice and wide.”

The Dunnes Stores fan picked up the shorts in a size XS.

And the total cost of this summer look was €23.

Deirdre then showed off an outfit that is perfect for those who love a casual look – made up of a grey tank top and a skirt.

She said: “If you prefer a vest this vest has a nice thick strap, loving that scoop neckline.”

STYLISH SEQUINS

Deirdre paired the vest with a khaki coloured skirt from the Savida range in a size small.

In total, this fab outfit cost just €37.

Finally, the fashion fan revealed a stunning outfit made up with dazzling sequins.

She said: “Who said sequins are just for Christmas?”

The skirt is a gorgeous addition to jazz up any outfit, offering a pop at whatever event you’re at.

The Savida Bailey Sequin Skirt costs just €35 and is available in sizes XXS to XXL.

In the official item description on the Dunnes Stores website, fashion chiefs said: “Make a statement with this striking midi skirt from Savida, designed with all-over, dazzling sequins, and a silky satin lining that ensures maximum comfort.

“Colourful yet structured, wear it with the matching top to create an eye-catching and on-trend ensemble; sold separately.”

Deirdre showed off the maxi skirt, which is covered in sequins, in a size XS.

She paired the skirt with a white scoop neck vest, and the outfit costs €47 in total.

THE HISTORY OF DUNNES STORES

DUNNES Stores opened its first store on Patrick Street in Cork in 1944 – and it was an instant hit.

Shoppers from all over the city rushed to the store to snap up quality clothing at pre-war prices in Ireland’s first ‘shopping frenzy’.

During the excitement, a window was forced in and the police had to be called to help control the crowds hoping to bag founder Ben Dunne’s ‘Better Value’ bargains.

Dunnes later opened more stores in the 1950s and began to sell groceries in 1960 – starting with apples and oranges.

The retailer said: “Fruit was expensive at the time and Ben Dunne yet again offered Better Value than anyone else in town.

“Over time, our food selection has grown and that spirit of good value has remained strong.

“Now we offer a wide range of carefully-sourced foods from both local Irish suppliers and overseas.”

The retailer’s first Dublin store opened its doors in 1957 on Henry Street and a super store on South Great Georges Street was unveiled in 1960.

They added: “In 1971, our first Northern Irish store opened, and many others soon followed.

“Expansion continued in the 1980s in Spain, and later into Scotland and England.”

Dunnes now has 142 stores and employs 15,000 people.
