THIS is the heartbreaking first picture of a dad-of-four who was killed in a tragic road traffic collision last weekend.
Brendan Roche, aged in his 60s, was killed after being struck by a tractor in Sixmilebridge, Co Clare last Saturday.
The incident occurred on the L7006 at Kilmurry around 10.15am on June 21.
Roche’s body was taken to University Hospital Limerick where a post-mortem was held.
And the road was closed off while a Garda forensic examination took place.
Tributes have poured in for the deceased man as his funeral details were announced.
Roche’s body will repose in St Mary’s Church in Kilmurry, Limerick, on Tuesday, June 24, from 6pm until 8pm.
The funeral will take place the following day, also in St Mary’s Church, at 11am.
The ceremony will end with a burial in Kilmurry cemetery.
Roche leaves behind his “loving wife” Eleanor and his four “adoring” children Ellen, Aoife, Cathal, and Ailíse.
He is also remembered by his mother, Mia, as well as his siblings Eamonn, Andy, Pat, Micheal, and Bernadette.
Roche is also mourned by his father-in-law, John Connolly, as well as his multiple nieces, nephews, extended family, and wide circle of friends.
He is also predeceased by his father, Michael, and brother, Noel.
Devastated mourners have left their condolences with the heartbroken family, with some describing Roche as a “gentleman” others telling how he “always greeted you with a smile”.
‘WONDERFUL FRIEND’
One person said: “As a long-time colleague, I will always remember his kindness, dedication, and the positive spirit.”
Another mourner added: “I have very fond memories of playing golf with Brendan and meeting him out for a stroll on a fine summers evening in Rossroe.
“Brendan always greeted you with a smile and you felt the better for meeting him.”
While a fourth put in: “I am absolutely heartbroken that Brendan has passed.
“Brendan was always a wonderful friend to me. He was incredibly hardworking but his capacity to help others was enormous.
“He loved Eleanor so much and adored you his kids, you are without doubt his proudest achievement in life and he constantly spoke about you all.
“I will miss his humour, his hugs and his kindness. He was and always will be treasured.”
