Yet Frank Ferrer, 58, has now called time on his stint behind the drums with the Paradise City hitmakers.

The Brooklyn-born musician’s departure, confirmed on the band’s official Instagram page, comes ahead of the band’s huge new tour kicking off in May.

Insisting there is no bad blood, the statement read: “Guns N’ Roses announce the amicable exit of Frank Ferrer.

“The band thanks Frank for his friendship, creativity and sturdy presence over the past 19 years, and wish him success in the next chapter of his musical journey.”

It added: “Frank first joined GNR during a show in June 2006 helping anchor the rhythm section during subsequent tours, including their recent outings featuring the reunited trio of Axl Rose, Slash, and Duff McKagan.

“His last show with the band took place November 5, 2023 in Mexico.

“Thank you, Frank.

“For the friendship, creativity and sturdy presence over the last 19 years.”

Guns N’ Roses have weathered many lineup changes throughout the band’s longstanding career.

The most recent lineup includes vocalist Axl Rose, lead guitarist Slash, bassist Duff McKagan, guitarist Richard Fortus, drummer Frank before his departure and keyboardists Dizzy Reed and Melissa Reese.

Frank, also known as Thunderchucker, joined the band in 2006.

He followed in the footsteps of their initial drummer, Steven Adler, and Matt Sorum.

He is the most continual drummer in the band’s history, after previously playing in New York band The Beautiful, The Psychedelic Furs and Love Spit Love .

He played his first show with Guns N Roses on June 24, 2006, in Germany and believed he would be a stand-in drummer for two weeks.

OPENING UP

Earlier this year, Frank spoke about his Welcome To The Jungle band’s call-up.

He told MyGlobalMind.com of his excitement on getting the nod and said: “Totally, oh my God. I’m trying to keep it all inside, but in my mind, it’s like, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, and exploding, of course.”

He added: “It was initially only going to be a temporary thing.

“It was only going to be for two weeks.

“But in my heart, I felt like, if I could really do well on this, even if it’s just for two weeks, then it could open up a lot of doors.

So, I didn’t have any fear.

“A matter of fact, it was the complete opposite. I felt like, okay, I’m ready for this.”

BAND UPDATES

The band’s new 2025 24-date tour will see the rock giants play their first-ever shows in Saudi Arabia, Georgia, Lithuania and Luxembourg.

The band will also perform in Turkey for the first time since their stadium concert in 1993.

It kicks off on May 23 in Saudi Arabia.

Recently, we reported how vocalist Axl had saved legendary rock band AC/DC by stepping in when Brian Johnson was unwell.

And three years ago, we reported how the vocalist had slept at British football team Tottenham Hotspurs FC’s new £1billion stadium after falling unwell after a gig.

At the time, he told fans he was too ill to return to London’s 5-star Mandarin Hotel with the rest of the band.

Footage at the time showed the Sweet Child Of Mine singer telling fans from the stage on Saturday: “I slept here last night…

“I’ll be switching the songs around a little bit.”

But fans at the sell-out show did not mind.

One said: “Axl was still awesome and rocked the joint.

“What a pro.”
