God of War TV Series Gets Greenlit but Showrunner Makes It Hard to Celebrate: “I am not a gamer”

God of War has received a green signal from Amazon Prime Video for two Seasons, and Star Trek maestro Ronald D. Moore will lead the ship. Moore made the thrilling announcement during a podcast hosted by Katee Sackoff. The news comes as a double-trouble as Moore calling himself a non-gamer could hurt millions of fans waiting eagerly for this gaming giant’s adaptation.

God of War has been an epic saga for game lovers, and seeing it transform into a big screen would be a surreal experience for many. The franchise was created by Dave Jaffe in 2005 and shortly became the PlayStation’s flagship series due to its vast success. Now, Amazon Prime Video has struck gold with the perfect opportunity to adapt the game series into an action-packed saga with none other than Moore, who is expected to bring in his exquisite world-building storytelling.

What could Ronald D. Moore’s “not a gamer” comment mean for the God of War series?

While chiming in about his latest venture to Katee Sackoff, Moore gave one of the most significant updates for game enthusiasts. Revealing that he is steering up to work next on the adaptation of the eminent game series God of War, ordered by Amazon Video, he spills the tea about not knowing the world of the game series that well.

His skepticism could be painful for the fans, but his genuineness promises to take the project to greater heights. For the gaming world, God of War is not just a video game; it carries an experience of dwelling in a world of warlords and hours of gameplay. However, Moore’s nuances in creating a universe where material is the key stand tall in projects like Star Trek and Outlander.

When Katee Sackoff referred to the series as a “daunting property,” Moore gave his insight and said:

I’m not a gamer, you know, think stab at it, but I don’t have, you know, I grew up in the arcade era, you know you go down, and you put your quarters in and bang on the buttons so I could do that I’ll play Defender got a
Defender game or asteroids, sure. Bring it on
.

The fans can trust Moore’s competent shoulders. He might not know which button to push on the controller, but he surely knows his way around a tight-lined script and capturing magic on cameras.

Ronald D. Moore might not have acquired a taste for modern-day games, but his wife, Terry Dresback, is a colossal fanatic of video games. During Katee Sackoff’s podcast, while remarking that he is not good with modern-day video game controllers, he revealed that his wife keeps playing Skyrim and hunting dragons for fun.

The Star Trek showrunner enthusiastically said:

My wife can do it. Terry plays Skyrim. She’s a Skyrim fan. She’s played that for probably 15 years, loves it, goes in because it’s an open world game and she likes going in. She goes and kills dragons to get money to build houses and cultivate crops and cook and build out and then she runs out of money and it’s like, oh I guess I got to go kill some more dragons and she goes you know so it’s like a whole thing.

With Ronald D. Moore stepping in to curate another gigantic universe of adaptation, it will be thrilling to see who will be cast in this upcoming high-octane series.

Star Trek is available on Paramount+ to watch.
