Make a Difference with Gibela’s Engineering Programme
Are you passionate about engineering and ready to gain valuable technical skills? Gibela invites unemployed youth from across South Africa to apply for its Engineering Training Programme 2025, designed to equip young people with skills in high-demand trades.
Through the Make A Difference Campaign, Gibela seeks to close the gap in South Africa’s artisan shortage by empowering the next generation of fitters, electricians, welders, millwrights, boilermakers, and diesel mechanics.
This initiative is part of Gibela’s mission to uplift communities through education, technical training, and skills development—especially in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
Available Engineering Fields
Applicants can apply for training in the following areas:
- Fitter & Turner
- Diesel Locomotive Maintenance
- Electrical Traction System
- Welding & Fabrication
- Boilermaking
- Millwright
Entry Requirements
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be unemployed youth aged 18 – 35
- Have a Matric (Grade 12) certificate or NCV Level 4 qualification from a TVET college
- Show interest or background in one of the engineering trades listed above
