In today’s world, Attack on Titan is considered one of the greatest anime and manga series in history, and it is all thanks to its creator, Hajime Isayama. Not only that, Isayama’s greatness as a manga creator is also reflected in the fact that even his editors were impressed by his way of creating a story and his brilliance as a mangaka. This was recently revealed when one of the former Attack on Titan Editors, Shintaro Kawakubo shared his experience while working with the Attack on Titan manga creator.

Kawakubo revealed that the industry might not know this but Isayama is the most cost-effective manga creator in history. Not only that, he even praised him for the way he treated the rest of his staff and even explained what he actually meant by the term cost-effective in relation to Isayama.

Hajime Isayama is an amazing person in real life

During the Manga Review Contest presents: Four Major Shonen Manga Magazine Editors-in-Chief Talk Session held in Tokyo (via Oricon), Kawakubo and other prominent manga editors were interviewed about their works and their experience. When Kawakubo was asked about what is the work that he found most interesting, he pointed out Attack on Titan and stated Isayama to be the reason behind it.

Kawakubo stated:

I met Isayama when he was 19, and as an editor, what I most want to convey to the world is that he is probably the most cost-effective creator in manga history

According to the former Attack on Titan editor, he met Isayama when he was just 19 years old and the first impression he got from Isayama was that he is probably the most cost-effective creator. Not only that, he even explained how polite he is while working with others.

Kawakubo went on to explain:

Isayama has never once gotten angry at someone, complained, or refused any aspect of an adaptation, merchandise, or game project. He has never said, ‘I don’t want to do this,’ even once. He’s truly an amazing person.

Hajime Isayama might be one of the most gentle souls as he has never refused any adaptations of Attack on Titan. Not only that, he has even considered ideas from other staff members and he has never complained or refused any thing.

What does Hajime Isayama being cost-effective means?

While talking about Isayama and him being cost-effective, Kawakubo explained what it means to be cost-effective. The former Attack on Titan editor pointed out that his interpretation of being cost-effective means that Isayama created such a great manga while also being a wonderful individual.

Kawakubo stated:

The term ‘cost-effective’ is from my perspective, so it might not be the best wording. What I mean is that he creates such an interesting manga while also being such a wonderful person. I am confident in saying that Hajime Isayama is the most cost-effective creator in manga history, and since I’ve always wanted to express that whenever I had the opportunity, I took this chance to share it.

There are very few manga creators in history who can compare themselves to the likes of Isayama or even come close to his brilliance as a manga creator. This is proved by the way Attack on Titan is celebrated today, even though it concluded quite some time ago.

Isayama was a gem and fans would love to see him work on another project or make a sequel or spin-off of Attack on Titan by introducing a new perspective within the Attack on Titan universe.

Attack on Titan is available to watch on Crunchyroll.
