THE FAI has earned plaudits from fans for a wonderful gesture to a young boy was stabbed at a school in Finglas.
Mason Geraghty, 11, was the victim of the shocking incident at St Finian’s school in north Dublin on March 4.

After surgery and a spell in intensive care as a precautionary measure, he is thankfully on the mend.
He and his brother were the guests at a Republic of Ireland training session before their Nations League play-off against Bulgaria.
Upon arriving at the training ground, they were met by Ireland captain and Brentford star Nathan Collins, who presented Mason with a signed jersey.
He then informed the young boy that he would be the guest of honour for the international friendly against Senegal in June.
The FAI social media team captured the heartwarming interaction on camera and shared it to Twitter.
The video was captioned: “11 year-old Mason from Finglas joined us at training today as he continues his recovery from being stabbed earlier this month
“Mason has shown tremendous bravery & will be our guest of honour for the Senegal match at the Aviva Stadium in June
“We’re all with you, Mason! ”
The clip has been viewed over 100,000 times at time of writing, with fans coming together to praise the gesture.
