Kayleigh has admitted it is a time she will ‘cherish’

Kayleigh will hit the dancefloor tonight for the highly-anticipated series finale, where she will be in with a chance of lifting the coveted glitterball trophy.

But before she says her farewell to the show, the 29-year-old shared a montage of clips celebrating her time on the series.

The social media star reenacted the iconic final scene of Channel 4’s hit show Derry Girls where Orla McCool’s character dances to Sunchyme.

Kayleigh wore the exact costume from the scene and even had a group of schoolchildren dancing with her, just like in the programme.

The funny lady wrote in her caption: “Derry Girls meets DWTS. My 2 favourite shows.”

She then added a series of videos of herself and her pro partner Ervinas Merfeldas having fun in rehearsals.

The pals laughed and joked around in the dance studio and even practised some tricky stunts.

In one clip, Kayleigh and her fellow DWTS contestants Elaine Crowley, Rhys McClenaghan and Kevin Dundon all gathered around while she recounted a hilarious quote from Derry Girls.

Kayleigh and Ervinas even acted out the renowned clip of news reporter Teresa Mannion saying: “Don’t make unnecessary journeys and don’t take risks on treacherous roads.”

The RTE star looked to be having a blast over the past three months on the show, making memories and friends for life.

Speaking on her incredible experience, Kayleigh wrote: “This show has stretched far beyond dancing for me.

“Seeing your kids enjoy us, hearing about candles lit for us and getting the most encouraging messages have kept us going. Never in my life did I feel support like it.

“An experience I will cherish forever. Let’s go out on a high when things are great.

“Ar scáth a chéile a mhaireann na daoine. Go raibh Maith agaibh.”

‘LAST GIRL STANDING’

Fans and friends raced to the comments section to wish the star good luck in her final run.

Sean said: “That’s very emotional! Best of luck tonight, Kayleigh.”

Anna added: “This is class. Best of luck to the both of you.”

Clodagh wrote: “You’re one in a million, my girl. What a journey; let’s take her home tonight!”

And Carla remarked: “Go Kayleigh! Last girl standing. Do it for the girls!”
